It’s been two weeks since @jamieleedancefest and I still miss it more than ever. This weekend was one of the best times I have had in all my dance travel; mostly for the people, the friends, the dancing, and the amazing Oregon weather. But this weekend also particularly felt special to Amanda and I because this was our first opportunity to partake in an event as staff. It was incredibly nerve wracking going into this weekend. We’re so new to this scene and compared to the unbelievable staff Jamie had put together we were nervous about our ability to stand on the same stage and instruct like these amazing dancers and people. Through the weekend however we were shown nothing but support, friendship, love, and admiration from our fellow staff, volunteers, and dancers. So I (we) want to say, THANK YOU. To @jamieleedancing : for trusting us to be apart of your event. Of all the people you chose, you included us and put your faith in our abilities. We will forever be thankful to you for this opportunity. To the fellow staff: for all your kind words and the little normal conversations that made us feel at home. Especially those that even jumped into our classes and took the time to tell us how you enjoyed them after. To the dancers: for coming to listen to us yap two step. For showing up in class ready to learn, asking questions, and dancing with us all night long during socials!! I will be reminiscing on this weekend for years to come. I can’t wait for my next trip to the PNW to see all our amazing friends we made. I do wish however, that you all didn’t live an 8 hour flight away🥲 side note: Amanda lives in Washington DC not Washington state😂😂 Oopsie. by @spencerwrenn
Ever wondered what would happen if you just stuck to it for a year? I got that answer this last weekend actually. One year ago I entered my first two step competition at @nashvilledancefest volume 3, I got prelimmed (deservedly). This year I got 4th in all level strictly with my coach and friend @dancingwithellis . Don’t believe me, watch the 🎥, here’s video of prelims last year with the one and only @jacq_leahwilson . Then there’s Ellis and I’s final song of a 6 song sprint from prelims to finals this year. It’s amazing what a year can do. Don’t you worry, I’m cringing at this years film too, there’s a long way to go but I’m excited to be on the journey😄 @forevercountryboots has been there along the entire journey🫶🏻 Consider this my petition to have @francisco_alderete15 MC my life, he had us cracking up all weekend🙌🏻😂 🕺: @spencerwrenn 💃: @dancingwithellis & @jacq_leahwilson 👢: @forevercountryboots 📍 : @nashvilledancefest #maketwostepgreatagain #twostep #countrydance by @spencerwrenn
We’re two weeks out from @forevercountrydancefest and preparation is well under way. But what kind of goals are you setting for yourself? Are these goals 100% in your control? Last year I had a wonderful time at Fest taking home my first Two Step victory ever, but what if this year I don’t even final? Does that mean I’m a bad dancer? Judges get to see maybe 20-30 seconds of my dancing, but over the whole weekend I’ll dance hours. That little snippet doesn’t define the other dances I have, the friendships I grow, or memories I make. At least that’s what I realized a few months into this memorable year of competition. So what kind of goals can I set for myself that I can actually control? In this video I give two examples, but I’d love to hear from my friends and community. What kind of goals that are not placement oriented do you set for a convention weekend? Below are mine from the video: 1. Make someone nervous or unsure of their dance genuinely smile from something they created while we danced whether it be in competition or social😁 2. Build 1-2 genuine connections with new people that makes me miss them when I leave and look forward to seeing them again at the next event. Not just their name and what they dance but really learn who they are! I challenge my friends and followers to leave some goals of yours for the weekend in the comments below!! Look forward to seeing everyone in two weeks!😁 by @spencerwrenn
We’re well under way prepping for what the people are calling “Felt Fest” at @forevercountrydancefest in Texas 3 weeks from now! Loved this combo from @5678_dancewithash , so Amanda and I gave it a try🤠 Counting the days till we get to see all our Two Step friends in Texas!😁 by @spencerwrenn

It’s been a while since I’ve posted just a social two step. @david_saylors played this song Friday night and I loved it (thanks @dancewithhaley for telling me what it was called). Had to have a social dance to it @inspiradanceinc homecoming! This was hour 12 of dancing for me Saturday, so it ain’t perfect, but man this dance was so much fun. If you’re looking to have dances like this with friends, you need to come two step (and swing) with us at Inspira! 🕺: Spencer Wrenn 💃: @dancingwithellis 🎥: @timm_aayyyy 📍: @inspiradanceinc by @spencerwrenn

DJs make or break the comps in my opinion! I LOVED this comp with @spencerwrenn at @nashvilledancefest this year! If you’ve never danced before, you should try! A lot of people don’t know where to start That’s where I come in! ⬇️ I may not have a two step course yet, I can introduce you to some stationary swing styles! I have two online courses where you can learn to dance country swing! My mission is to demystify learning to dance and to make it accessible ANYONE can do it! My courses are fully online, go at your own pace, and NEVER expire (this means forever access 👀) You have no pesky subscriptions to worry about canceling either! Comment “🤠” and I’ll send you the info directly to your inbox! Country Swing 101 is for the brand new country swing dancer! If you never danced before, you’ll be able to tackle this course! Country Swing 201 is where you can go from there to keep learning! OR where you can start if you’ve danced before! Check out the full syllabus by commenting a 🤠 If you’re interested in some of my favorite dips or drops, leave a 🌪️ in the comments and I’ll send you some specific info for courses designed for that! I teach ones similar to the ones you saw in this video! My tricks courses are formatted the exact same way as my CS courses. Designed to give you clear, safe instruction from the comfort of your home! feel free to share! ❤️ Message me with questions! #countryswing #improvdance #modernswing #couplesdance #twostep by @spencerwrenn
