In their fourth album The Fear, Seattle project @spirit_award explore the dark, hazy reaches of psych-rock to produce an atmosphere unique to frontman Daniel Lyon’s fuzzed-out hypnotism. Head to the link in our bio to watch the band perform tracks from the 2023 album with DJ Cheryl Waters in the Live Room.

Hi,

This is Daniel and Daniel.
This is Packaging.

“The name Packaging may connote a cynical mindset about the music industry, but the music that duo Daniel Lyon (@spirit_award ) and Daniel “Connor” Birch (@flauralmusic) make is far from cynical. Instead, it’s a passionate merging of elements from their distinct voices: krautrock chug, psychedelic swirl, electronic grandeur, and tuneful accessibility, with a pinch of bristling self-awareness sprinkled on top.”

Happy new year y’all! Here is a little recap from our show at the @kexp mural amphitheater series. one of the our favorite shows of the year 🤘

Here’s what’s next:

1. Taking a break from shows to focus work on recording more music, including producing and engineering other musicians. Working on another Spirit Award record shortly.

2. An album is nearly finished that I have collaborated on with @econnorlodge ( @flaural ) that we will be putting out likely in summer/fall 2025. It’s one of my favorites I’ve done. Follow @packagingmusic for updates.
