The SNC RAMS have the silverware!

The @aoc_sport Basketball Men’s East League A trophy is now in their hands after their end-of-season awards ceremony on Friday🐏🏆

The lads have been terrific this year on and off the court and deserve their flowers! Good luck to those who are leaving us for pastures new, and we look forward to seeing the rest after an amazing summer! 👏

This past weekend was a special one for Sport Sense. ❤️💙

We headed to London to support Coach Denis in his first London marathon… and what a day it was.

Seeing thousands of runners out there — not competing, but showing up — each with their own story, their own reason, their own cause… it was powerful. Truly inspiring.

And for us, the highlight was seeing Coach Denis — my dad — along the course.

At mile 21, where fatigue is at its peak and the legs feel like lead… he spotted us.

He came over, shared a big hug, took a moment — and then found another gear.

64 years young.
Still pushing boundaries.
Still leading from the front.
Still showing us all what it really means to stay active and committed.

Moments like this remind us exactly why we do what we do.

Proud doesn’t even come close.

Great session last week in Cambridge with the Hoops Mechanics team. 🏀

It was great to get on court and coach a talented group of young players through a finishing session focused on understanding angles, footwork, body control, initiating contact, keeping the defender on your hip, and reacting to different game situations.

Really enjoyed working with a group that was eager to learn and compete. Thanks to everyone involved for having me!

It was a pleasure to deliver CPD for the @itfcfoundation coaching team earlier this month.

The sessions explored how coaches can use effective communication, build stronger relationships, and create engaging environments that maximise both player development and enjoyment.

We also challenged coaches to reflect on their own practice and identify practical strategies they can take straight into their sessions.

At Sport Sense, we believe great coaching is about far more than technical knowledge—it’s about creating environments where young people can thrive.

A huge thank you to the @itfcfoundation coaches for their engagement, openness and willingness to learn.

Building a sense of belonging and community is at the heart of SNC, so we brought learners together for our first-ever Sport vs ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Festival, a brilliant end‑of‑year celebration designed to connect students who might not otherwise cross paths because of their courses or timetables.

The festival featured three activity sessions, including football with our @itfcfoundation learners, with volleyball & basketball led by our SNC Rams teams 🏆

All sessions were played in great spirits and perfectly showcased what SNC is all about! Teamwork, inclusion, and shared experiences.

We’re already planning to bring the festival back next year and to work even more closely with our industry partners to create even more opportunities for our learners.

Our annual showdown hit the court last week as staff and students went head‑to‑head in an action‑packed game! 🏆

Organised by our Level 3 learners as part of their Personal Development Curriculum, the event highlighted how sport can bring people together and create a positive, supportive community. 💙

The SNC RAMS are officially the champions of the @aoc_sport Basketball Men’s East League A 🐏🏆

The team finished the year with 30 Pts, 12 Games played, 10 Wins, 2 Losses.
Brian Chitumba finished the season as our top scorer with 242 points!

An incredible accomplishment and a true reflection of the commitment, unity and determination everyone has shown all season long. 👏

Had some special visitors pull up to our session recently 👀🔥

We’ve been working in partnership with the @itfcfoundation over the past year, delivering free basketball sessions for young people across Ipswich, giving them somewhere to come, play and enjoy themselves!

Recently we were visited by @ipswichtown players Kasey McAteer and @azonivan who took some time out of their busy training schedules to come and spend some time with our ballers!

It was great to see the boys get stuck in straight away, showing some impressive dribbling and shooting skills. It didn’t take long for the competitiveness to get going , especially in the shooting games , lots of fun was had. 😂🏀🔥

We also had an insightful Q&A with the boys where they talked about their journeys, matchday routines, eating and training habits, as well as their favourite basketball players.

We appreciate you guys taking the time out to come down and spend time with the group 🤝

All the best for the rest of the season, we’ll be supporting !

It was an amazing home win for the Rams yesterday! 🐏🏀

SNC Rams 85 - 60 Oaklands College

Played in front of a packed sports centre, the game was highly competitive with amazing baskets and defending at either end!

The Rams have done all they can now and await the outcome of results elsewhere over the next week to see if they will lift this year's league title! 🤞

As we approach half term, we’ve been taking a moment to reflect.

It’s been a very busy term, and sometimes we get caught up in the day-to-day delivery of our programmes and initiatives. It’s important for us to pause and appreciate some of the moments along the way. Here are a few recent highlights 📸

1)We had the privilege of attending the Suffolk Justice Service in Bury St Edmunds, following an invitation from the High Sheriff @gulshankayembe

Throughout her tenure, Gulshan has shown genuine support for our work – attending sessions, engaging with our team, and consistently advocating for community inclusion and improved accessibility. We’re grateful for the opportunity and wish her all the best moving forward. 🙏❤️

The service itself was a powerful reflection of community and justice. Hearing from local leaders, alongside the thought and care behind the ceremony, was impactful. A particular highlight for us was the talk and poems from @sissaylemn.

2)On the court, the @suffolknewcollege Rams travelled to @suffolkone for what has quickly become a much anticipated local fixture.

A competitive game played in the right spirit, with great support from the crowd. Thank you for hosting @coachty_13! 🏀👊🏾

3)Finally, we’re proud to share that this year we have provided work experience opportunities for over 20 students from both high schools and colleges around Suffolk.

Creating opportunities for young people to contribute, develop, and explore pathways through sport remains a key part of what we do.

Grateful for the continued support and looking forward to what’s ahead.🤩
