Last deadlifts for the Coast Classic are finished. Not but a few sessions left and we are done. @focusfitms @barebonesstrengthclub #strongman #lift #deadlift #deadlifts #deadlifting #protein #strength #power @cerberus_strength_usa by @ssippin_warthog

I apologize to everyone I have been an askhole to in regard to deadlift suits, but after everyone’s input and digging I went with the @cerberus_strength_usa multiply suit.

If anyone wants to know if they work, here you go. My PB without a suit is 705, and I worked up to 745 the first session with this one. @focusfitms #strongman #lifting #gym #strength #powerlifting #bodybuilding #nutrition #diet #equipped #suit #suitup #cerberusstrength #focusfit by @ssippin_warthog

And another PR. Not sure what I should go for in the next couple weeks. My bench is always hard to judge based on look and feel.

Programming by me and the buds @t_lift93 and @williepigott and others.

Typical deadlift is out of the program right now, but squats are still here. #strongman #fitness #weightloss #food #gym by @ssippin_warthog

My legs are one of the few parts of my body I have always been proud of. #strongman #gym #fitness #food by @ssippin_warthog

The deadlift variation I have been doing sounds off. It’s not a full SLDL, but a cue I have been following is completely counter to typical deadlifting. I’m trying to keep the bar over my toes and not drag it up my body. It’s been a part of the rehab and whatnot for a minute now. It’s nothing really special but it’s been feeling nice in an “this is a bit more awkward and should get me better somehow” kinda way. #strongman #gym #workout #strength #fitness by @ssippin_warthog

Haven’t did a post in a minute! I’m still here just in the middle of a cut. I’m on week 6 of 12 following more of @what_the_heck71 diet book. At Nats I was 305, weighed in at 278 this morning. Initial goal is 270, but I will see how I feel at week 12. #strongman #gym #workout #fitness #diet by @ssippin_warthog

New batch is mixed. It’s a repeat! #mead #wine #beer #food #strongman by @ssippin_warthog

I said I was going to have a cup of mead after Nats, but I never specified which cup I was going to use. I picked this bottle prior the comp, and I’m enjoying it now for Labor Day. It was bottled August 19th 2023, and is supposed to be semi sweet. Cheers/Skal/Salud everyone. #strongman #food #labordayweekend #mead #wine by @ssippin_warthog

First national comp is down and over @strongmannationals through the @ntx_strengthexpo .
The Good
I had a lot of fun, got to meet a lot of cool people, and got to walk with giants.
@derek_k_o and his team @battleaxebarbell organized and put on such a smooth and well put on show that I can’t articulate it. As an athlete, I can’t thank them enough.

The Bad
I got hurt on the deadlift. Midway through my first and only rep, I strained my back.
I couldn’t go through the last events being a press medley and sandbag load medley. I also zeroed the circus dumbbell on day 1.

The Next
I’m going to get healthy. This comp prep was a Murphy’s Law of several months including injury and life events. It is what it is. I’m going to take what I learned at Nats and move forward. I have a grocery list of nagging issues I want to address before I do another comp.

I can’t thank enough my wife @haleybee1994 for always being there.
I can’t thank enough @t_lift93 for guiding me and helping figure out training hiccups and being a great friend.

Thank you to all the friends, family, and coworkers that had cheered me on.
Thanks to @grit_training_ms for letting me have a space to train and get done what I need to.

Onward we go.

Had bad sinus issues today. Really the last heavy session with squats this weekend so couldn’t skip. Next weekend will be focused mostly on Circus Dumbbell and Sandbags.
