Anxiety clings to certainty. It has us mistakenly believe that we are at risk unless we have control. But relying on external factors to cope leaves us even more anxious and exhausted. Trying to control everything is a losing battle that will cost you energy, time and peace.
✨
Self trust, however, recognizes a more empowering truth: safety doesn’t come from controlling everything but from believing we can navigate whatever comes our way. By shifting the focus to our internal strength, we lose the need for control.
✨
Knowing that we can mange hard situations and emotions is key to building trust with ourselves. And sitting with the discomfort of uncertainty teaches us that we can handle it.

Worry drains our precious energy and is rarely helpful. It takes us down a negative path and one worry leads to another, which leads to the next. Protect your peace by noticing when worry is taking over. Stay in the present moment and think of all the better ways to use your energy.

Negativity bias refers to the phenomenon where humans tend to focus more on negative experiences and information than positive ones. This bias is deeply rooted in our evolutionary history. For early humans, survival often depended on their ability to recognize and respond to threats quickly. As a result, our brains evolved to give more weight to negative stimuli. While negativity bias can be useful for survival, in modern life, it can lead to chronic stress, anxiety, and a pessimistic outlook.
✨
Here are four tips to maintain a balanced perspective:
✨
Try to reframe negative situations in a more positive or neutral light.
✨
Be mindful of the information you consume. Constant exposure to negative news and social media can reinforce negativity bias.
✨
Surround yourself with positive influences.
✨
Treat yourself with kindness and understanding, especially when you make mistakes or face setbacks.

Ask yourself…

👉 Is this in your control?

👉 Is this thought helpful?

If not, you’re most likely overthinking and spending time and effort on something that’s not doing you any good.

As a mom of a child with ADHD, understanding the ADHD brain is SO important. It’s important to remind yourself that your child is not being defiant, but rather struggling with executive functions like impulse control and attention regulation. How can we help build up our children for success in the future? Well, it requires a little bit of hand-holding, at least in the beginning 👇

Scaffolding involves offering guidance, encouragement, and appropriate challenges tailored to the child’s abilities. By gradually withdrawing support as the child gains confidence and competence, parents scaffold their child’s learning and promote independent problem-solving skills.
