Welcome to @stagetimestudios 🗽

We are in a crisis of culture. Between AI slop and an administration that’s blatantly suppressing artists, the only way to revive the arts in America is to do it together. For the past three years we have been building an underground, in-person community of artists, educators, and activists to shape the future of what NYC has always been: the cultural hub of the world.

But we need your help.

Follow along on this journey. Help us keep the lights on. Remember that it’s the people that make New York City the greatest city in the world. Meet us under the bridge in Harlem.

Mothership Presents

💅 DOLLY JAM
📅 Friday, October 23rd
🕖 Event starts at 7pm
📍 @stagetimestudios (2331 12th Ave, Harlem)
🎟️ $15 suggested donation
🥂 BYOB (light refreshments will be served)
✏️ RSVP at our link in bio

Join Mothership for DOLLY JAM, an evening devoted to the life and music of the queen of our hearts, Dolly Parton. Learn a little about Dolly’s story—plus a few other women in country music who broke the mold and inspired generations of queer musicians and activists—but mainly, tease up your hair, grab your banjos, and get ready to sing along in a bit of a live-karaoke-style jam, followed by a good ol’ fashioned party. No musical experience needed. We’ll bring lead sheets and lyrics. You bring instruments if you’ve got ‘em (anything goes). Acrylic nails optional, but recommended.

This event will take place at @stagetimestudios in Harlem. At 7pm, we will all do a quick stop-and-start rehearsal, just to get our bearings. Then, we will sit for a brief lecture by music scholar @gabrielle.ferrari, after which the jam will commence! We will sing, play, and have a grand old time. In the tradition of Mothership, an afterparty will follow our jam—BYOB, please!

Note: Upon RSVP, you'll get access to a folder of sheet music/lead sheets and lyrics, and a link to a playlist. We’ll start with about ten songs, just to get us going, and then we can do free-for-all. No preparation is required, but if you want to get these tunes in your head ahead of time, you'll have what you need in that folder. by @stagetimestudios
