My general experience was a 9/10.🔥
The customer service is very amazing! 10/10

PS: I wasn’t billed for the dumplings because they came out too salty and the kitchen was almost closing so they couldn’t redo. I believe this was a mistake since the other dishes were as good as perfect.

📌Pro Tip: Do make a reservation if you’re going for the Candela Night as it can get packed.

Here’s part of my Zanzibar 2026 Summer🇹🇿 lookbook that you can steal for your next getaway 😉

Note that while in Zanzibar, Stonetown is predominantly a Muslim town so you’ll need to cover up a bit more to avoid unnecessary stares/having to get your outfit covered up in a ‘shuka’ and also just due respect of culture.

On the other hand, Nungwi and Kendwa beaches are mostly known for tourist activities so you can dress a bit more freely and show more skin without any judgement whatsoever.

GRIEF is a conversation we don’t have enough, and the truth is, it doesn’t end when the world expects you to move on. Some days, you feel like you’re healing. Other days, the pain comes rushing back, and sometimes you find yourself feeling guilty for forgetting little details, the sound of their voice, or memories you once held so dearly. Please be gentle with yourself. You’re not failing at grief. You’re human. ❤️‍🩹

I’ve lost a number of people this year, including my cousin, my uncle, and today, I’m mourning a friend who was barely a year older than me. And I’ve come to realise that one of the hardest parts of having a big family and a beautiful community around you is that you also have so many people to lose. The more people you love, the more goodbyes life may ask you to endure. And death is so painfully final.

This post is especially dedicated to my brother, because today marks five years since I lost him. Five years in heaven, and yet, some days, the loss still feels just as heavy. I’ve learnt that grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and no matter how much time passes, there are days when you still wish you could have just one more moment with the people you’ve lost. I miss you, and I carry that loss with me in ways words will never fully explain. 🕊️🤍

So, to anyone still grieving someone they lost years ago, please know you’re not alone. You don’t have to be “over it” by now. Some losses change you forever, and some days will always be harder than others.

Take the pictures. Record the laughter. Make the phone calls. Visit your people. Spend time with them, even when there’s nothing special to celebrate. One day, those ordinary moments may become the memories you hold closest to your heart.

And to everyone I’ve lost, this year and before, I wish we’d had more time. 🕊️🤍 by @staicyachieng__
