I hadn’t seen @starlovin since my going-away party before I moved to BC in 2015. Tonight I surprised him at his gig with the @thestrumchums in Ottawa. We worked together at Employment and Social Development Canada from 2010-2015 and somehow 11 years melted away the second we saw each other…❤️ by @starlovin
A little over a week into my 50th year. Still doesn’t feel like I’m 50 although my lower back says I am sometimes. Excited to be retiring from the public service this fall after 25 long years. No clue what the next chapter will be like but I have a feeling I’m gonna absolutely love it. 🤘🏼❤️🤘🏼 by @starlovin
I want beach day every day. #cozumel #beachlife by @starlovin
The look on my face says it all. I was meant to be on stage doing what I do best. This is where I feel most alive and most myself. 🤘🏼🎸🤘🏼 📷: @andreacranfieldphotography #livemusic #musicianlife #guitarist #happyplace #thisiswhoiam by @starlovin
Still riding the high from last week’s show at Overflow. Sold out show, hands in the air, and that feeling when the crowd is right there singing along to every song. Grateful for everyone who came out and made it one to remember. More soon. 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼 Thank you @stagesnaps.jdlpictures for the pics! #WeDieYoung #AliceInChainsTribute #OverflowBrewing #GrungeNight #LiveMusic by @starlovin

Last night was absolutely incredible. The room was packed, the crowd was loud, and the energy was unreal from the first note to the last. Nights like this are exactly why we do this. Huge love to everyone who came out and made it what it was. 📸 Swipe through 20 snapshots of chaos, sweat, and pure rock ‘n roll. 📷: @petrmaur #WeDieYoung #LiveMusic #GigLife #OttawaMusic #RockShow by @starlovin
The ol’ hip huggarroo. ❤️ by @starlovin
It may not look like it on Instagram, but 2025 was one of the hardest years I’ve been through. My confidence was stripped away from me. So was my self-esteem. I questioned my purpose more than once and carried an unreal level of stress that eventually showed up both mentally and physically. There were times I barely knew who the f*ck I was. What got me through the year was the support of my family and friends, CrossFit, travel, and playing gigs. Standing on a stage with a guitar in my hands was one of the few places I still felt present and like myself. As tough as it was, that year forced me to slow down and look inward. It pushed me to take better care of myself, reset my priorities, and reconnect with what really matters. I’m still rebuilding, but I’m doing it with more clarity, more intention, and a better sense of where I want my life to go next. I can’t wait for 2026! ❤️ by @starlovin
