💗🐾 Oh, Violet! You are SO easy to love! 💗

What a fun day with this beautiful girl! Car rides, shopping, yummy treats, a pup cup, the cutest pink bucket hat, a little dance party, and of course… those famous Violet HUGS! 🥹💃💕

Violet is truly one of those dogs who just makes you smile! She’s silly, affectionate, playful, adventurous, and has SO much love to give!

At just 1 year and 3 months old, she’s been waiting for her forever family since JULY. 💔

Unfortunately, shelter life has been really tough on her. She gets stressed and overwhelmed in her kennel, and sometimes that means jumping and acting a little wild. But that is NOT the Violet I know and adore!

Get this girl outside those kennel walls, and her beautiful personality shines! ✨💗

I wish everyone could spend a day with Violet and see what I see. A happy, loving, goofy girl who just wants to enjoy life and be loved!

As much as I love our adventures together, what I really want is for Violet to have a family to make memories with EVERY single day. 🥹❤️

🚨💔 ONE DAY PAST HIS URGENT DEADLINE. SHY GUY IS STILL HERE. 💔🚨

Please don’t let his story end on a shelter floor. 💔

I spent more time with Shy Guy today, and once again, he showed me what an AMAZING boy he is.

The kisses. The smiles. The affection. The way he just wants to be close to someone. ❤️

This is a dog who arrived at the shelter terrified, unsure of people, and struggling to trust. A dog who has overcome so much and come SO far.

And today? He was giving kisses, soaking up affection, and showing me just how much love he has to give.

But Shy Guy is living on borrowed time.

He is now ONE DAY past his urgent deadline at Broward County Animal Care. He desperately needs a rescue to pull him or an adopter willing to give him the chance he deserves.

Shy Guy has previously displayed resource guarding, and he will need someone who understands his history and can provide the patience, structure, and support he needs. But his past challenges should not erase the progress he’s made or the wonderful dog we’re seeing.

Look at these pictures. Look at his smile. Look at the love he’s capable of giving.

He has fought so hard to get to this point. Please don’t let his story end here. 💔

🚨💔 SHY GUY HAS UNTIL TOMORROW, OCTOBER 15! 💔🚨

He found comfort in ONE person. Now he needs someone to give him a future.

Shy Guy is five years old. He arrived at Broward County Animal Care as a terrified stray in August, frightened of the unfamiliar people and surroundings.

Over the past two months, this beautiful boy has developed a special bond with one staff member. Someone familiar. Someone he trusts. Perhaps someone who makes this scary place feel a little safer. ❤️

I first met Shy Guy in August while completing my volunteer shadowing hours. Today, I went back to spend some time with him.

He came out of his kennel without difficulty, walked beautifully on leash, and enjoyed being outside.

Shy Guy has a documented history of resource guarding involving food and treats, which has limited his handling and enrichment at the shelter. While I did not observe resource guarding during our outing today, he did display mounting behavior that required redirection.

He needs an adopter or rescue partner who understands his behavioral needs and is prepared to work with him safely.

But here’s what I hope people remember:

Shy Guy is more than his fear. More than his challenges. More than the behaviors he’s displayed in a stressful shelter environment.

He’s a dog who has learned to trust someone. A dog who can be playful and affectionate. A dog who deserves to be understood.

And tomorrow, his time runs out. 💔

Everyone loves Rusty. So why is he still waiting? 🥹💔

Since JUNE, this beautiful boy has been waiting for someone to choose him.

He’s a Broward Buddies favorite, a wonderful adventure buddy, and an absolute sweetheart who would rather cuddle with his people than play with toys.

He’s even enjoyed a weekend sleepover in a home with two small dogs and a cat! ❤️

I’ve spent time with Rusty on multiple occasions, including just yesterday, and this boy has so much love to give.

But every adventure ends the same way. Back in his kennel. Still waiting. 💔

Let’s change that for Rusty.

💜 MEET MOOKIE. 8 YEARS OLD. AND SO DESERVING OF A SECOND CHANCE. 💜

This precious little girl arrived at Broward County Animal Care as a stray. We don’t know what her life looked like before she arrived, but we do know that she deserves so much better.

Mookie is severely matted, has an open wound on her leg, is experiencing vision loss, and seems confused and overwhelmed in her kennel. 💔

But spend a little time with her, and you’ll discover the sweetest little soul.

She loves affection, absolutely LOVES her wet food, and is clearly potty trained. Despite everything she’s going through, she is gentle, trusting, and so incredibly lovable.

Today, Mookie’s stray hold ends. She is available for RESCUE TRANSFER ONLY, and we’ve been told that two rescues have placed holds on her. We are desperately hoping that one of them will be her ticket to a better life.

💜 THE DANIA PROJECT WANTS TO HELP! 💜

Our mission is to make sure senior and vulnerable shelter dogs are seen, loved, and given the second chances they deserve.

We would LOVE to support the rescue that pulls Mookie and help with the care she needs as she begins her next chapter.

🌼 DAFFODIL. A little girl with an extraordinary spirit. 💛

At just 2 years old, Daffodil has already experienced abandonment, uncertainty, and more than any dog deserves.

She was found tied to a tree. 💔

A wonderful Good Samaritan brought her home and spent three weeks nursing her back to health, showering her with love, and desperately searching for someone to give her a forever home.

When that didn’t happen, Daffodil came to @humanebroward.

And what a remarkable little girl she is! 🥹

Her back legs are bent, almost like little frog legs. We don’t know why. But here’s what we DO know…

🌼 She LOVES people.
🌼 She LOVES toys and playing fetch.
🌼 She’s a lap dog and a professional kiss giver.
🌼 She’s happy, playful, affectionate, and incredibly resilient.

Daffodil doesn’t dwell on her past. She’s too busy enjoying every moment of life.

We are forever grateful to the beautiful soul who rescued her and helped her learn to trust and love.

Now it’s time for someone to give Daffodil what she’s always deserved. A family. A home. A lifetime of love.

She may be a little different on the outside, but her heart is absolutely perfect. 💛

Just another day doing something I absolutely LOVE at the Humane Society of Broward County! 🥰

So many beautiful faces, wagging tails, sloppy kisses, and sweet souls just waiting for someone to notice them.

For these dogs, a little time outside their kennels, some fresh air, a walk, a treat, or simply having someone sit beside them can mean EVERYTHING. ❤️

And here’s my little reminder that you don’t have to adopt a dog to make a difference in their life.

💕 Happy Monday from beautiful CIARA! 💕🐾

At 8 years young, this gorgeous tri-colored girl has a smile that lights up the room and the most soulful eyes that tell a story. ❤️

Ciara has been waiting at Broward County Animal Care since June, and we think it’s about time someone fell head over heels for this sweet girl!

Ciara has a little independent streak, but that just adds to her charm! She’s sweet, loves her treats, and has a beautiful personality all her own. 🥰

At 8 years old, Ciara deserves so much more than life behind kennel bars. She deserves a soft bed, a loving family, and the comfort of knowing she’s finally HOME. 🏡❤️

💔 FOUR MONTHS. And Levi is struggling.

Meet Levi! 💙 This gorgeous 1-year, 4-month-old Staffy has been waiting at Broward County Animal Care since June 20, 2026.

And sadly, shelter life is taking a toll on him.

Levi has become so stressed in his kennel that he’s been moved into one of the larger rooms near the front of the shelter.

But take this boy OUT of the shelter, and you get to see the most wonderful side of him! 🥹❤️

We took Levi on a Broward Buddies date, and he absolutely stole our hearts!

🚗 The PERFECT copilot

🐾 Walks beautifully on leash

🎾 Loves playing fetch

💦 Loves splashing around with the hose

🦎 Very interested in chasing lizards!

🦴 Extremely food motivated and takes treats SO gently from your hand

😘 Gives the sweetest kisses

🥰 Loves snuggling, resting his big beautiful head in your hand, and getting his chin rubbed

❤️ Friendly with everyone we met and showed no reactivity when we encountered other dogs. A dog meet is recommended for homes with resident dogs.

And then came the hardest part of our day. Taking him back. 💔

Four months is a LONG time for a young dog to spend in a shelter, especially one who is struggling emotionally.

Levi is getting overlooked, and we just don’t understand why.

He’s playful, affectionate, gentle, and has SO much love to give.

Please don’t judge Levi by his shelter stress. Give him a chance to show you the incredible dog he really is.

He deserves car rides, playtime, snuggles, chin rubs, and a family who will love him forever.
