No cares in the world. No thoughts in her brain. Good thing she peed at 4am. 😂

At 46, I’m starting over.

I’m learning new skills, building Star’s account from scratch, and figuring out what comes next after 2.5 years of looking for a “regular job.”

It’s not always easy. Perimenopause and chronic health issues definitely don’t make the learning curve any easier.

But I’m not waiting for things to get easier.

I’m betting on myself because I’m a sure thing.

I used to think resting alone was always better, until intense flare days and my sweet pittie got involved.
Now Star is my rest buddy, and she’s very good at it.
Resting together still counts.

Who’s your rest buddy? 💗 by @starthecatdog

Okay, I’m saying it. Go. Take a look. There are so many beautiful dogs to adopt! I’m so glad I met this sweet girl. 🐾💗

The only thing I've haunted most of this week is my own couch, flare day or not.
Resting gets easier the second you stop apologizing for it.
Star already knows this. She has never explained herself to anyone.
What's one thing you're allowed to stop answering this week? ⭐️ by @starthecatdog

5 things to go into Star’s kind of potion:

1. Blueberries
2. Peanut Butter
3. A Kong
4. Strawberries
5. A Nylabone Ring

What would go into your pet’s potion? It’ll be wickedly good to find out!! 🧪 by @starthecatdog

There’s great beauty in the world around us and I love seeing it all. But she’s so pretty. 😍

Living with chronic illness means fatigue I’m paying to decide some of my days.
On those days, I’m napping with my dog, and she stole wins.
She just has way more practice.

POV: Your dog claims the good chair…and that’s just fine with you.

Best seat in the backyard, and Star knows it. She can see everything, hear it too.

I don’t argue. Low energy days mean I supervise from the porch, and she supervises from the chair.

Who runs your house? Tell me in the comments!👇

I’ve dreamt of this island since I was 27. I didn’t know it was this island, but my gut told me it was in Scotland. At 40, I saw an episode of a show that took place on the Outer Hebrides in Scotland and I recognized it was the place in my dreams. At 46, I got to go. No kids. No dog. Just me and my love. I saw the place I dreamt of decades ago. I can’t wait to take my kids with me. Poor Star will have to stay home. Maybe one day she won’t.

Two small wins…

Star got the full doggy spa day treatment! She looks, and smells gorgeous. 🐾

Real clothes count when you live with chronic illnesses. No makeup required.

What small win are you counting today? 💗

Living with multiple chronic illnesses means some days we don’t do much. So Star gets a job.

She chews, and I supervise from bed. Low energy dog care still counts.

What do you give your dog on days you can barely get up?
