One wrong turn can’t take you out when your life is rich in more ways than one.

I made a rookie mistake uploading my book, and my pre-order launch got pushed back while I fixed it. I had an almost-meltdown, and then I realized my mindset took a hit, but my health, my purpose, and my creativity were all still strong.

When you see your life through all nine types of prosperity, even your worst days are still so full.

(And yes, the link is live now! Link in bio. 🧡) by @stephanie.skry

It’s official! Do Good and Prosper is now available for pre-order. If you work in nonprofits, education, social entrepreneurship, or any job where you’re carrying the weight of the world listen up.

Do good and prosper challenges the belief that meaningful work requires sacrifice, and it backs that up with research, real stories, and a step-by-step framework across nine types of prosperity.

The more resourced and well you are, the greater impact you can create.

Confession: I still don’t know my word of the year for 2025.

Usually, by now, I have it figured out—something that feels like a guiding light for the next 12 months. But this year? Nada. Nothing feels quite right. Do I want to focus on “Growth”? “Joy”? Something bold like “Fearless”? Honestly, I have no idea yet.

But maybe that’s okay. Maybe this season is less about having everything figured out and more about staying open—letting the year reveal itself one step at a time.

So now, I’m curious: Have you picked your word for 2025? If so, what is it? Or are you still figuring it out, like me? 🤍

October! Full of Halloween and birthday celebrations. My younger daughter turned 7 last week so we celebrated with a spooky afternoon and a dozen of her friends. There was lots of glitter and sugar and so much fun. 👻 🧙 🎃

October also meant lots of writing. ✍🏻 Since my book is now live and available for pre-order, I’ve been playing around with what my next writing project might be. Could it be another nonfiction book? Pick up my novel again? A Substack? Stay tuned for what I’ve decided…. 😉🤭

This month I finally got to hold my real book in my hands! I have a box of paperbacks in my house and I’ve already sent a few off to the bookstores that will host my launch events in January (cannot believe I am even typing those words). It’s really real! 📕 🤗

And I went to see Alicia Keys’ Broadway musical, Hells Kitchen, with some friends! The show was so fun with obviously great music and just a reminder that a late night is worth it for a deposit into your social prosperity. 🫶🏻

A holistically prosperous life means a little bit of ALL the things this month! I hope your October was beautifully spooky and filled with joy! 🎃💖🧡 by @stephanie.skry

I could tell you what everyone in my life needed from me, except what I needed myself.

There was a season when I knew every deadline, every request, every to-do, and every person who was counting on me that week. I was carrying everyone else’s priorities around in my head, and honestly, I was good at it.

But if you’d asked me when I last did something just for me, or how I was actually feeling, I wouldn’t have had an answer. My health, my time, my friendships, and my own goals had all quietly slid to the bottom of the list. 🫠

If you’re the one who keeps everything running for everyone else, I wrote Do Good and Prosper for you, so you can finally put yourself back on your own list. 🧡

I ended my keynote by asking the whole room to say this out loud with me.

“I can do good work and live a prosperous, thriving life.”

Say it in your head, or out loud so you hear it in your own voice. The same care you bring to everyone and everything you take care of, you deserve to bring to your own life. 🧡 by @stephanie.skry

I wrote the book on this, and I still thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest.

A few weeks ago I gave my very first keynote about Do Good and Prosper. I’d rehearsed it over and over. Then I walked into the ballroom to check out the room, saw how massive it was, and went for a run to shake out the nerves. My heart was pounding so hard I genuinely thought I might go into cardiac arrest on the treadmill. 😳

And then I walked on stage and gave the talk anyway. Courage almost always comes before confidence. If you’re waiting to feel ready for your big thing, this is your sign that the nerves can come along for the ride.🧡🧡 by @stephanie.skry

“Broke and burned out is not a job requirement for changing the world.”

When @rachrodgersesq endorsed Do Good and Prosper, this is the line she led with, and it’s been in my head ever since. 🧡 Rachel’s book We Should All Be Millionaires gave so many of us permission to want more, and having her words on this book means the world to me.

If you’ve ever believed that caring deeply about your work means you have to run yourself into the ground, this book is for you.

Say it often enough, and it starts to become true.

I close every chapter of Do Good and Prosper with a Prosperity Mantra, because the words we repeat to ourselves shape what we believe is possible.

Save this one, put it somewhere you’ll see it every day, and let it do its quiet work. 🌿 by @stephanie.skry

I’m trying to plan next year, and I haven’t even finished this one.

I’ve been trying to make huge, long-term decisions in the middle of the fullest season of my year, and it finally hit me: my best thinking needs space, and I have none right now.

So I put a decision date on my calendar for a quieter season, and I’m letting the big questions rest until then. If you’re carrying a big decision through a busy season, you have permission to do the same. 🍂 by @stephanie.skry
