The magical Tiger’s Nest (Paro Taktsang). The site started as a meditation cave in the 9th century, where Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress in the 8th century.

Caring for bees is in the details with @apiarianhome

Fort Collins, Colorado | August 2026 by @stephanie_powell

Last month, I spent a few days with Netta Caligari, bee steward and founder of @apiarianhome. Her story of discovering the healing power of bees is fascinating and inspiring.

(I first learned about Netta’s work after visiting the bee huts at @capellaranch. And I’m so glad I did.)

Grand Lake Lodge.

Grand Lake, Colorado | September 2026 by @stephanie_powell

In my eyes, the cabins, lodge, and grounds of @shadowcliff.lodge and retreat center are quintessential Colorado. Located on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, it’s a respite and meeting place for small groups, families, creators, and backpackers. Run with love and creativity by Executive Director Alexander Thompson and his team.

An afternoon spent watching old-world skills come to life at the @rockymountainfolkschool. Wood turning, leather craft, and boot building. Very special to witness these trades get passed down to new students by people who’ve honed their skills for decades.

The horse jingle at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Watching the herd make its way back to the stables felt like a small glimpse into the rhythm of life on the ranch.

Tabernash, Colorado | July 2026 by @stephanie_powell

Each morning at Devil’s Thumb Ranch, the horses are brought in from pasture in a tradition known as the horse jingle. Last month I had the chance to meet Ranch Manager Bill Ross and two of the property’s wranglers to talk briefly about the tradition.

What an incredibly lovely afternoon I had recently with Netta Caligari, owner of @apiarianhome. I learned SO much from Netta, a bee steward and apitherapist, based in Northern Colorado. Full story soon. In the meantime, I’m enjoying editing images from our shoot and soaking up all the bee education and goodness. by @stephanie_powell

Prettiest patio dining spot ever? Definitely in my top 10! This is Cilantro on the Lake at Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. @parks.canada @crmresorts @nationalparkscanada by @stephanie_powell
