As a new season emerges, I feel the connections, the light, the love☀️❤️💫Let the creativity flow in☺️ by @stephaniebigart

Back in the saddle. Boy does it feel good to be back in my element. For those of you who know me, you know I had a retail shop for almost 20 years here in Bozeman. Oh how I have missed the retail shop and the connection with others. Converting this vintage horse trailer into our new retail shop for @sagebornskincare has been a dream of mine and my soul feels so grateful. A special thanks to @justinbigart for believing in this wild idea, driving me all the way to the middle of WY to pick it up (what an adventure!) and for always inspiring me to be a better person. Also, a huge thanks to @budmartin for the amazing craftsmanship inside the trailer. 🙏

Last Saturday was magical! We celebrated Montana makers and artists with our first BIG ART pop up. Thank you to everyone who came. Stay tuned for future @sagebornskincare pop ups! ✌️❤️

Cleaning up your nutrition has the power to help with mood, metabolism, chronic diseases, inflammation, autoimmune diseases, high blood pressure, skin health, high cholesterol, gut health and so much more!

Here, I am prepping my delicious rainbow salad packed with phytonutrients and fiber for optimal gut health.

Burnout, headaches, low energy, irritability, you name it-these are just a few of the symptoms we can be faced with from not taking good care of ourselves. These symptoms can often manifest into other more serious ailments or diseases if left unattended. I have realized though, over time, that when I am not taking care of myself first, it trickles down to those I love. But, why is this practice so challenging?

Oftentimes, when we think about health, we tend to think of physical health-working out, gaining strength, etc, but we don’t necessarily think about mental and emotional health. Mental health is an important piece of whole person health and is often overlooked. Welcome to the last part in the detox blog series, “Detox Your Mind.”

Our minds have the power to impact how we feel, which can then impact our actions. Our thoughts, behaviors and actions can also have an impact on our physical health. By starting with awareness of thoughts that come into the mind, you can begin to recognize patterns and start to practice self love and gratitude to ease this potential negative rabbit hole of thoughts allowing yourself to be more present in the world with yourself and others. This can lead to more powerful connections and openness.✨✨

Did you know that most women on average use 12 beauty products/day that combined have over 160 unique ingredients? And, men on average use 6 products/day with over 85 unique ingredients. Wowzers. Unfortunately, many beauty companies are using harmful ingredients that can cause a huge variety of health issues such as hormone disruption, allergies, eczema and dermatitis to name a few.

Welcome to the next part of my blog series, “Detox Your Skin,” where I dive deep into clean beauty, what to look for on labels and how to make small shifts in your beauty routine to protect your health. Here’s some key points from the post ❤️.

Top 10 ingredients to avoid:
1. Aluminum
2. Hydroquinone
3. Parabens
4. Petroleum derivatives
5. Phthalates
6. Retinol
7. Triclosan
8. Silicones
9. PEGs/PGs
10. Phenoxyethanol

Opt for products that have plant based, organic ingredients. Less is more. Think of the ingredients like “food for your skin.” Would you eat the ingredients? Probably not if you don’t know what they are!

A good place to start is by switching out one of your products that stays on your skin for a long period of time such as a body lotion or face moisturizer. From here, you can go product by product until your routine is as “clean” as possible. Check out @sagebornskincare for clean, organic, simple ingredients that nourish the skin✨.
