Guɔ̱p mi̱ gɔaa

Two years ago in London, what started as a spontaneous project became one of the most personal pieces I’ve ever created.
I had just moved to London and was beginning my journey in modelling. I was questioning where I belonged, navigating a new industry, and carrying the weight of years of negative experiences tied to my skin colour.
This project gave me the freedom to release those feelings through words and images. It became a space where I could confront my insecurities and begin embracing the person I was growing into.
What began as a fun creative experiment ended up resonating far beyond what we expected, and I’m incredibly grateful that it was published in @fisheyelemag

KUHANE O TE AKI 🗿my first photobook, featuring pictures of Polynesia, prefaced by anthropologist Edgar Tetahiotupa, with poems by Raumata Tetuanu & Tehetu Shan-Tinirau, interviews with Tauavetua Barsinas & Daniel Moutarde, and a bespoke parfum created for the book.

It’s been a few months now, but what a beautiful gift to see it out in the world!
Thank you for the warm welcome in Paris and London. I hope you get the chance to explore this unique object we wrote and designed with great care and love.
Many kilometers spent visiting bookstores, but we’re proud to be stocked in some amazing libraries and art institutions in Paris and London, with even more to come soon with @antennebooks!
