sally and chris have been my friends for many years and i’ve been hearing about the bush retreats they host at wollemi ridge for years. I finally went with the girls and now.. I get it

three days off grid, we slept in teepees with the fire going, played card games by candlelight, collected eggs, made friends with the goats and I made my own chopping board. sally and chris cooked us dinner with produce from @harvest_farms and i’m still thinking about the apple pie and ice cream that we fit into our tummy’s 🤭

it’s an hour and a half from sydney, completely off grid, and you can make it as busy or as lazy as you like. if your group chat has been talking about a girls weekend for months, this is the one. link in bio to find out more #travel #sydney #accomodation #girlstrip #retreat by @stephkkelly

its obvious that i’ve posted less over the past couple years.. a LONG ass journey of finding out who I am, outside of an 8 YEAR long term relationship + creating an online persona focused on my illness and living with it. At 31 i’m now at the ripe age of ‘appropriate motherhood’ and GURRRRL I ain’t ready, I have so many things to accomplish and learn about myself, the world, the people that mean the world to me. & anyway, what I wanted to give was an update, i’ve been in hospital, had a tube change (no biggie), i’ve been dating, i’ve been exploring, i’ve been resting, i’ve been RUNNING (nxt yr city2surf) AND i’ve been on an offgrid retreat (shout out @wollemiridgeretreats and GOT MY OWN EGGS). Anyway all of that said, its been a lot, but i’m doing really well 💖💖💖 by @stephkkelly

lucky that my cup is so full 🫶🏻

Feels like yesterday that I was discharged from the hospital on home TPN, it was such a crazy time and I was terrified that the treatment that would keep me alive could kill me.

For 5 years I lived on TPN and always planned on aiming to wean off, at least become tube fed again and work to improve the motility in my digestive tract, I’m so proud of myself and so thankful to my doctors, nurses and family and friends who never gave up on me #tpn #ChronicIllnes #tubefed #health by @stephkkelly

august slipping away once again, very excited for the rest of the year 🏃🏼‍♀️💖 by @stephkkelly

$I’d usually call myself a careful and safe bike rider, even in Japan I was SUPER cautious of falling while skiing; so I really didn’t think i’d be the one knocked unconscious on a lime bike. One thing i’ve come to realise is that ebike accidents don’t happen only to dare devils’ or careless people, they happen to anyone at any age. I have no memory of the entire experience, and the first thing I remember is waking up in the CT scanner, mum by my side and wheeled back into resus. Results showed 2 fractured bones in wrist, fractured scapular, fractured skull, fractured jaw and small bleed in brain and lung. No city 2 surf, no more running, possible surgery and now 6 weeks in a wrist cast and shoulder sling 🥲 I’m devastated. But I’m remembering how lucky I am to have had a beautiful birthday celebration with friends, and all the love and support that surrounds me. I unfortunately was meant to return to work next week as I am under severe financial stress, regardless of the rumours I am NOT on any disability support pensions, or NDIS funding. I am actively going through a divorce and am the one who left that relationship with barely anything, after investing my own money into a JOINT business. Out of respect I have kept my lips sealed but I want to emphasise that without the support of my mum, occasional brand deals, and casual nursing shifts at my workplace, I do not even have a savings account. I don’t need to explain myself but I do often get asked in these situations if people want to send something via ‘buy me a coffee/gifts’ - to which that helps in SO many ways. The link is in my bio and it’s something that is uncomfortable for me to share but I also am so grateful for all of the support 💖 THIRDLY a massive thank you to my family and friends celebrating my birthday with me and being there for me this last week, I am so lucky 😭 #ebike #injury #chronicillness by @stephkkelly$
