Is this the world's smallest quilt reveal? I think it might be 🤭 although it's small, it brought me a lot of joy to make!

I already have my next quilt block prepped and ready to sew, I'm looking forward to getting stuck in!

The sun is finally out in Liverpool, which means I've got some half decent lighting to take some pictures of my first finished mini quilt!

I can't be the only one who's kitchen worktop also doubles as a sewing station?? What I wouldn't give for a dedicated craft room! 🤣

I can't believe I actually managed this. I finished my first quilt block and it doesn't look a total mess! Is my binding perfectly straight? No! Are my corners tight and neat? Not all of them..but did I learn a lot? I learned so much making this little quilt block, I'm so proud of myself for the amount of work I put into this. I can't wait to start the next project! 🧡

My mini star quilt is all sewn together, but now I need to decide what colour the backing is doing to be. My three options are navy blue, cream or pumpkin patterned orange.

Let me know what colour you think I should go with in the poll!

Quilting seams! Flat, perfectly aligned, crispy seams...We all want them, but how do we achieve them? I've been experimenting with different wants to achieve the flattest seam that aligns easily, and I have to say (and this may be an unpopular opinion), I really don't like nesting my seams when I'm quilting! I find it makes it quite tricky to align them perfectly. Instead, I've found ironing my seams open let's me see exactly where the join is and gives me a nice flat, crisp finish on the front and the back!

Do you have any tips to share for creating perfect quilting seams? Pop them in the comments!

🧡 It's been a while since I posted in this little corner of the Internet! I'm still recovering, still in physio and unfortunately, still in pain. Despite this, I've managed to find a hobby that is bringing me so much joy! It's also doable pain wise and I can't even tell you how good it feels to get my creative spark back! 🌟

I started learning to sew a few weeks ago, which quickly spiralled into an absolute obsession with quilting!

My current WIP is this quilted star block with the sweetest fox fabrics. I can't wait to sew it all together and see the end result! 🧡

Is it too early for pumpkins? It's august after all so it's basically Halloween 😂🎃
