POSTS STORIES REELS

Huge THANK YOU to everybody who joined us for one last workout to say goodbye to our old Main Street location! To say I was holding back tears would be an understatement.
-
When I first signed the 3 year lease, that felt like an eternity. I way praying that we even got 40 members to cover our rent. Those 3 years went by faster than I could’ve imagined. Simultaneously the most exhausting and cherished years of my adult life :)
-
It’s bittersweet to leave a place where so many great memories were created and incredible friendships were forged. But much like you miss your 1st car but don’t necessarily want it back, we are already growing into our new location. If you’ve ever stepped foot in our old gym, thank you for your support and for being a part of something that is so special to so many of us.
-
Fortunately for all of us, we know that the best is still yet to come. If you’ve been to our new location, you’ve felt it. There’s something different. An energy. A potential. An opportunity for so many transformations, great days, hard days, and time spent with friends and family. Cheers to our next 3 years 💪🏼 by @strengthacademyrf

ITS HAPPENING! We are moving! We have finally outgrown our humble 1st home and it’s time for an upgrade!

4x the space, 4x the fun, 4x the results! What amenities would you like to see in the new facility?

Brandi P - 9am - 215 or 225 x 3
-
Brandi shows serious control and confidence in her body’s ability to generate force over time. Because of her relatively long femurs, Brandi’s battle is the 1st 2 inches of her 1st pull. What experienced athletes understand is that strength takes time to generate. Your fastest movement doesn’t necessarily generate the most force. And you need force to break the barbell from the floor.
-
Brandi patiently lets her force build and trusts her positions. Eventually the bar moves and she wins. Once she gains full control of the weight, her reps get continually easier. Smart athlete. Well fought. @petrybrandi by @strengthacademyrf

1st Halloween Photo Dump! This is the 8:00am class where we learned that the witches vs cauldrons game is seriously awesome and Coach Riley never fails to entertain 🤣 Thanks to everybody who participated. I think the adults might have had more fun than the kids! by @strengthacademyrf

Mario deadlifts 275 x 3. Mamma Mia! @jakebackes by @strengthacademyrf

Brent W - 5am - 385lbs x 2 by @strengthacademyrf

2 years and 4 months ago I tore my ACL trying to be all super athlete during a gym kickball game. Shortly after, I deadlifted 505 lbs. I decided not to get surgery. No ACL replacement. No rehab. I was not a good patient.
-
Eventually, the torn ACL took its toll and I had to restrengthen from what felt like ground zero. I had serious doubts about whether I would ever squat or deadlift heavy again.
-
This past Friday, I finally returned to a 505lb deadlift. It was a vindicating moment and has reopened my mind to my athletic potential. It’s like removing a handicap. A feeling of “we’re back”.

We have this insanely great community at Strength Academy. There were a lot of days that I didn’t want to show up for myself but trained anyway to show up for my friends. Thanks for everybody’s encouragement these past two years. I owe it to you. @strengthacademyrf by @strengthacademyrf

This week, our Foundations crew was missing a few teammates. To simultaneously celebrate our own impeccable attendance and punish the absent teammates, we decided to have a day off. We celebrated Griz’s birthday with a pupperoni pizza party and even brought in a trampoline! Can you imagine being absent for such an amazing day?! by @strengthacademyrf

Last week @indira_van_handel and @hiltgenlisa rocked iconic 80s fits, all classes gaped in awe at the 1988 Crystal Light Aerobics Championships, and we learned to never again play scenes of John Travolta from the movie ‘Perfect’ on the big screen 😳. For some classes, every day is the Super Bowl. For the 9am, every day is Cinco De Mayo. Party on Wayne! 🥳 by @strengthacademyrf

With the new facility, we have been able to start youth athletics training! 1st two photos are from our Power to Perform partnership with RF Youth Softball. Videos are from a lifting session in our Foundations program, where we teach the basics of strength and conditioning training to middle schoolers.

This has been extremely rewarding for Coach AJ, Britt, and myself. All coaches that are former athletes themselves start out wanting to coach other competitors. To be able to influence athletes of this age and teach them to enjoy training really brings things full circle for us.

Big thanks to the parents that believe in what we do and gave us the opportunity to start these programs. We hope your athletes are having as much fun as we are!
