Meet the two people behind every wedding we play.

Carla founded String Quartet Solutions in 2007. As Managing and Artistic Director, she shapes the music for every wedding we play: the arrangements, the ensemble, and how each important moment of your ceremony will sound. She plans the repertoire personally, with every couple.

Cláudia looks after everything around it. Your first reply, availability, proposal and contract. Every detail settled quietly, long before the wedding day arrives. In English or Portuguese, whichever feels more natural to you.

Most of our couples are planning their wedding from another country. Video calls across time zones, venues we know well, and musicians already on the ground in Portugal when the day arrives.

Planning a wedding here from abroad isn't the exception for us. It is most of what we do.

The musicians who join us hold positions in Portugal's leading orchestras. They are carefully chosen for your date, your ensemble and your repertoire, and they are the reason the music sounds the way it does.

One of us answers your first message.
The other decides how your entrance will sound.

Nothing in between is ever handed to a stranger.

Since 2007, we've played more than 1,500 performances across Portugal's finest venues.

A little introduction to who we are.

String Quartet Solutions was founded by Carla Wyburn after studying violin at Trinity College of Music in London and the Amsterdam Conservatoire, and touring with leading European orchestras. Today, she still personally shapes the music for every wedding we play, working closely with each couple to make sure every moment sounds exactly as it should.

Behind every performance is a repertoire of more than 1,000 pieces across thirteen collections.

Classical and sacred music. Jazz and swing. Waltzes and tangos. Bollywood, Irish and Jewish traditions. And contemporary songs arranged in the elegant orchestral style that Bridgerton made famous.

A quartet, trio or duo. A soprano, trumpet, oboe or piano when the occasion calls for something more.

Because the right music is never simply background.

It sets the atmosphere. Marks the moment. Becomes part of what you remember.

The music should feel effortless.

Arriving there is anything but.

Seven couples. Seven venues. Seven stories, in their own words.

A quinta in Azeitão. A hotel overlooking the Douro. A garden in Sintra. Different settings, different repertoire, different ways of making each celebration their own.

But the brief is always the same: get the music exactly right for the moments that matter most.
A bespoke arrangement written for an entrance.
A playlist shaped over a year of conversations.
A quiet signal agreed with the planner, so the strings begin on the moment, never after it.

The details may be invisible to the guests. They are everything to us.

Swipe through to read what these couples wrote afterwards.

Wildest Dreams, by Taylor Swift. An elegant prelude to the celebration.

As guests gathered at Quinta do Torneiro, the strings set the tone for Christina and her guests on a beautiful September day.

Christina shared this moment with us, along with a message we will treasure:

"Thank you so much for everything. It was so absolutely perfect."

A privilege to have been part of such a memorable occasion.

Thank you, Christina. by @stringquartetsolutions

Strings, and an evening in Jane Austen's world.
Last night we played the cocktail before the VIP preview of Sense and Sensibility, at the invitation of the British Embassy in Lisbon and Universal Pictures. The programme was chosen for the occasion: guests arriving, a glass in hand, and the period already in the room before the film began.
It was a privilege to be asked. Thank you @ukinportugal and @universalpicturespt. by @stringquartetsolutions

The Christmas Collection.

Fifty pieces, arranged for strings and chosen for the season.

Silent Night, O Holy Night and In the Bleak Midwinter. Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Wham! and, of course, Mariah Carey.

A repertoire for company dinners, festive receptions and the evenings in between.

Warm enough to fill a room, quiet enough to leave the conversation alone.

The season, in strings.

DM us for the full repertoire.

A Colecção de Natal.

Cinquenta temas, arranjados para cordas e escolhidos para esta época tão especial.

Silent Night, O Holy Night e In the Bleak Midwinter. Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Wham! e, claro, Mariah Carey.

Um repertório para jantares de empresas, recepções festivas e todos os momentos especiais de Dezembro.

Música que envolve o espaço, sem nunca se sobrepor à conversa.

A época natalícia, em cordas.

Five days. Five brides. Five songs.

Layne walked down the aisle to The Departure by Max Richter.
Sofia to Gabriel’s Oboe.
Julia to Turning Page.
Krizia to the theme from Beauty and the Beast.
Ana to Love Story by Indila.

A contemporary classical piece. A film score. A song written for a wedding. A Disney theme. A French pop song.

Five churches and quintas across one week. Five completely different stories. Not a single piece repeated.

Because the music that belongs to a wedding is often already somewhere in a couple’s story, long before anyone asks for it.

Tell us yours. by @stringquartetsolutions

The entrance.
At Paço do Morgado de Oliveira in Évora, Rachel walked in to Video Games by Lana Del Rey.
The bridesmaid came first, with the bride's dog beside her, and Rachel followed on her father's arm. One piece, played from the opening bar, carrying all four of them down the aisle.
Congratulations, Rachel. 🤍 by @stringquartetsolutions

Kinda chic to meet elegance with personality, where luxury leaves room for the unexpected.

A string quartet playing your favourite pop song. A palace reimagined as your wedding venue. A cocktail crafted just for you. A Sangeet brought to life with Bollywood dancers. The little details that turn a beautiful celebration into a story that could only be yours.

True luxury isn’t about following traditions to perfection. It’s about reimagining them, adding your own twist, and creating moments your guests will remember long after the last dance.

The new luxury? A wedding that feels unmistakably you. ✨

Some wedding days stay with you long after the last note has played. 🤍

Jil & Marco celebrated their beautiful wedding at the Igreja de Santo António do Estoril this August, and we’re so happy to finally share a few moments from their special day.

Receiving their photographs came with the loveliest message:

“You also helped make our dream wedding a reality.” 🤍

These are the moments that make what we do so special. Thank you, Jil & Marco, for having us be part of your day, for your kind words, and for allowing us to share these beautiful memories.

Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness together.
