insane manila gridlock + heavy rain made me and @ranorano late to the @cinemalayaofficial opening night filmmakers’ presentation. luckily, our momi was there early and took the stage in our place. she was our inspiration to write @elenita_elena_elaine.film, so while we were gutted to miss it — this moment was kind of perfect 😭💖🥹 everybody say thank u momi labyu momi @mominigabsam

𝓢𝓾𝓻𝓯𝓪𝓬𝓮 𝓣𝓮𝓷𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷 is having its International Premiere at Seoul International Women’s Film Festival @siwff, the largest women’s film festival in the world 🌏🚺💙

We’re part of the New Currents section, which “aims to discover and promote women filmmakers and their outstanding work with vision and aesthetics that encourage us to see the world through women’s eyes.”

Personal heroes like Kim Bora, Jane Schoenbrun, Josephine Decker, Kelly Reichardt, Shireen Seno, Chantal Akerman and more have had their groundbreaking work exhibited at New Currents. And on a nostalgic note, many of our cinematic dreams and wishes as sisters were born in the festivals, microcinemas and alleys of South Korea these past 5 years we’ve been making films; developing and pitching them together across many trips to Seoul. 🥹

We’re ecstatic and honored to join the festival’s amazing lineup this year, finally screening in one of our favorite cities on earth. 정말 감사합니다!

Fest runs August 20-26, 2026. Screening times and venues to be announced! Friends in SK, hope you can catch our film there! taken in Seoul, South Korea by @elenita_elena_elaine.film
