For my client's tattoo she wanted to do some draping Vines and leaves that turn into musical notes as they climb across her shoulder and onto her collarbone. The music notes are from a portion of a favorite song. And the vines and leaves are simplified, stylized olive leaves.

Two sessions, 11 hours total on this portrait of a woman with flowers and feathers in her hair.

The first session was completed after 5.5 hours. After that time we had finished all of the initial black and gray tattoo work. The second session was an additional 5 hours (a little bit longer) to do all of the color work on the flowers and feathers, additionally, added some more contrast to the dark areas of the black and gray. That's why you can see some fresh areas on the portrait besides the color work.

How is an open studio different from a walk in day, you might ask? Pretty much the same but with less pressure! You can come by and spend some time at the shop, check out artwork, get a feel for the style, and you don't necessarily have to be ready to get tattooed that day. That's always been true, but this makes it explicit - I just wanna see you! 💖 I and @mactegtats will probably be working on @inktober , so you might get some sneak peeks, or you can give your input as I browse Marketplace for a snare drum, or even, yes, get a tattoo. 👇🏽 Walk-In tattoo FAQ below 👇🏽

🤔What is a walk-in tattoo?
➡️It's a way to get a same day tattoo without an appointment. Just walk right into @studioinkatx and ask for Cyril.

🤔What should I bring?
➡️An idea for a tattoo, reference image(s), or just an open mind, as well as cash for payment, photo ID, and your well-hydrated and nourished self (It's a bad idea to get a tattoo on an empty stomach, or after a night of heavy drinking. We also have drinks and snacks at the studio if you need.) That's it!

🤔Do I have to get flash? What even is flash?
➡️No! Flash are tattoo designs that I've pre-drawn and am excited to do, so they're the best option if you want something that's ready to go. That said, you can come with any idea you want to get tattooed that day. If it's not feasible to tattoo the same day, we can consult and schedule you for a future date.

🤔What if my tattoo is not finished by 6?
➡️ I'll stay late to finish any work I start for you, but please don't arrive at 5:59 expecting to get a tattoo 🙏🏽

Memorial tattoo for my client's fur baby. Also, it was her very first tattoo! Her dog, Raymond, went over the rainbow bridge so she had him immortalized as a tattoo. She even brought Raymond's ashes along so he could be there with her for the whole process. 🧡

I added this filler portion for my client in between his upper shoulder tattoo and his inner bicep portraits on the inside of his arm.

We went with classic Japanese imagery: a Pagoda on the water overlooks a Shinto shrine in the shadow of Mount Fuji as the sun rises up over the mountain. Also added in the silhouettes of the flying birds and the lone crane sitting in the water.

Total time for this tattoo was just a hair over 5 hours.

Being a part of the east Austin community, @indeliblemarkart and I wanted to showcase one of our favorite breakfast spots!

We usually hit up @juaninamillionrestaurant the morning after a night of karaoke. We find we can split the Don Juan el Taco Grande easily with a side of queso.

Juan in a Million has been around for 46 years and is quite a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. We find during the week after 1pm is a good time to go and not wait in line, plus parking is FREE before 3!

Juan in a Million normal operating hours is 7am-3pm every day!

All that to say, if you’re in the area, Juan in a Million is definitely worth the visit!

Hello all of you beautiful tattooed people!

Checkout these little cherubs. My client wanted to fill out some area on their upper back and shoulders, and she chose these adorable, iconic, Raphael cherubs.

Rather than going with black and gray, we decided on doing a a blue palette. I love the way this looks! It looks like a sticker or like it was drawn on with marker!
