We are very proud to present our new logotype for @playinghouse_co , an artist-first platform bridging contemporary art and design. They orchestrate exhibitions at rotating locations, exploring the intersection of the functional, the familiar, and the inventive.

Typeface: Neue Kabel by Marc Schütz (2016), a revival of Rudolf Koch’s Kabel (1927)

We started from playinghouse’s original logotype, set in Futura, and went looking for its neighbor. Kabel was cut in 1927 Germany by Rudolf Koch, the same year as Futura, in a foundry only five miles away.

Futura is the embodiment of pre-war modernism with its functionalism and geometric purity, while Kabel sits between modernism and expressionism, its geometric forms carrying Koch’s calligraphic touches.
 For playinghouse’s new logotype, we used Marc Schütz’s Neue Kabel (2016). Schütz returned to Koch’s original drawings and brought their quirks back in a contemporary form.

Neue Kabel is lively and dynamic, but still clean and modern. Much like the pieces playinghouse exhibits: contemporary at a glance, but once you look closer, the hand of the designer and artisan appears.

Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy invites visitors into a colorful, riotous fun house of carnival attractions by visionary artists of the 20th century, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Sonia Delaunay, Keith Haring, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, and more.

The brainchild of artist André Heller, Luna Luna first opened in 1987 in Hamburg, Germany, as a spectacular fairground. And then, by a twist of fate, the park’s treasures were forgotten in storage in Texas for 36 years. With a blockbuster showing in Los Angeles in December 2023, Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy resurrected these artworks, to audiences’ delight.

Now, the showcase arrives at The Shed, creating a can’t-be-missed event in NYC. The Shed’s presentation—installed in the soaring, iconic McCourt space and Level 2 Gallery—includes special activations and concert events. Featured artists include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Arik Brauer, Salvador Dalí, Sonia Delaunay, Monika GilSing, Keith Haring, André Heller, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, and Kenny Scharf. taken in The Shed by @asyacetin

Found these images today. A rather simple and straightforward project that I enjoyed couple years back. One can say I like keeping things simple.

Poster for @beachsessions_rockaway 2025 with the artist @kimbrandtkimbrandt with @somethingspecialstudios.

The design was inspired by Kim Brands choreography where bodies come together to form masses only to dissolve again. But also the theme of the Beach Sessions for the year being “horizons”.

2nd slide is the poster by @c_allumabbott following the same idea.

Over the past year, we met with @elifbay in Journey Cihangir to make a magazine on neighborhood culture. 9 months of transatlantic collaboration gave life to the first Issue of Soli.

Soli is an Istanbul-based culture magazine that focuses on neighborhood stories to highlight the connections between people and places and the diversity of cities. It delves into the intricate relationship between neighborhoods and the people who shape them, aiming to reveal the essence of today’s cities - their diverse communities, shifting cultures and dynamic social fabric.
