Love in the quiet moments. by @stylishdecorating

I've decided these Royal Stafford deer plates are one of my favorites. I've been bringing out my Christmas decor and I have discovered I'm a huge deer lover.

And the only thing I bought this year was a few more deer pieces and one little white house to add to my collection. It's amazing what a person is constantly attracted to. Maybe it's because growing up we always seen deer in the fields. And I usually see a gathering in the back fields here. I used to get them in my yard laying amongst my big ponderosa pines in the Okanagan too. I remember buying these same plates for a friend a few years ago and eventually had to get myself some. Zero regrets.

Hope everyone is having a lovely start to November!

We have sunshine and it's a beautiful day here.

Sharing my mom and dad's 50 year old dishes that they received on their 25 wedding anniversary. I recently picked them up from a visit. Such a shame that they have been deteriorating in a box in their garage for over seven years. Some have glaze crazing on them now but I wanted to use them on my birthday table this past week in honor of my parents. I will be using them along with my other dishes so l am sure you will see them in other tablescapes.

My mom never used them a lot, probably for Christmas or Thanksgiving. She wasn't big on decorating but focused on making sure everyone who ever visited was fed whether they were hungry or not.

I didn't realize bits of me would turn into my mom over the years but I find pieces of her showing up everywhere the older I get. So if you ever visit me, please know my door is always open and you will never leave my home hungry. You might even get to eat off these dishes.

I will continue to honor their memory by using these dishes for many many years. by @stylishdecorating

I love vintage dishes and was pretty happy to finally find "The Friendly Village" plates in three different sizes a few weeks ago while thrifting.

I've discovered that it's plates I search for most when thrifting.

You can change the whole feel of your table by just changing the plates.

To my fellow Canadian friends, I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgivings weekend!

This was a Fall tablescape I had done earlier last week. Sadly I didn't do much of a tablescape for our family Thanksgiving dinner as it was a busy day for me cooking for 16 and I simply ran out of time and energy. But we used the peti point china and my vintage Silver plate cutlery and enjoyed a huge turkey with all the traditional fixings.

The best part was having my family here again and being grateful for them all. by @stylishdecorating

The leaves are falling softly, flowers are coming to an end. I am loving the chill in the air in mornings knowing I don't have to get up to go to work or be anywhere. I love this time of year! Looking forward to warm cozy fires and curling up with a warm blanket enjoying a good book and a big cup of hot chocolate.
And of course many more family dinners! My favorite!

What do you love most about Fall?

Made a little Fall centerpiece for my next tablescape! I love this blue pottery bowl from Homesense. Earlier this summer I filled it with succulents and used it on my balcony but I really wanted to use it somewhere in my home and so now that Fall has arrived I decided to clean it out and use it to create a Fall centerpiece for my table.

Now I am thinking I might have to create a Winter or Christmas themed one later on.
