POSTPONED to Wednesday, May 31st at 8PM ET • You ever started out a month or quarter in a great rhythm and then life happens and you don’t know whether you’re personally coming or going?

One thing I’ve noticed about life, be it changing careers, taking on new roles, managing “busy seasons” or juggling many demands, your routines don’t automatically change with you! They require intentionality.

I’m determined to both be a leader and help leaders who don’t just build things well, but ARE well in the process. Which means a reset of rhythms and routines. A lot of you over on @subdueyourday said it was time!

Join me next Tuesday at 8PM ET as I walk through the subdue your day system for resetting your rhythms and routines. Follow @subdueyourday and click the link in bio to register for free. By signing up you’ll also get the subdue list templates to help you plan out your routines.

You were born to subdue but first you must subdue your day! See you there! by @subdueyourday

Happy New Year! A fresh new year is the perfect time to take the reigns on your morning. Starting with remembering these 3 steps:

One thing for your mind
One thing for your body
One thing for your spirit

This makes prioritizing yourself first digestible while also creating some flexibility. Whether you’ve got 30 mins or 4 hours to give yourself in the morning doesn’t matter. You’ve created space to cover your bases however you need to.

You also have space to get creative! Maybe you want to switch up the things you do for mind, body & spirit to see what works for you! No rules, no pressure. Just space & a guideline.

Over the next few days, I’ll dive into how I seek God to design my days for a new season and hopefully you’ll find some things that might work for you!

What’s your morning routine consisting of right now? Let me know! by @subdueyourday

This is a hard one. It can become so easy to put a merit system on our daily needs because culture teaches us taking care of self is not important unless all other boxes are checked off first.

But God doesn't supply our needs
based on a merit system or set of ideals. So our care for ourselves should be a reflection of His care not an undoing.

This holiday break take inventory of how you naturally prioritize your needs. Are you treating yourself the way God intended or in a way that you wish others wouldn’t? by @subdueyourday

If you find yourself overwhelmed in the morning or depleted at the end of the day, one of the sweetest gifts you can give yourself is the gift of “time & space.”

You don’t need a lot.

• Just set a time you’ll go to bed tonight and a time you’ll wake up, with the goal of getting yourself ample rest.

• Make a plan for tomorrow so that you’re not flooded with what if’s in the morning. (And if you’ve got extra time prep things like your lunch or your outfit or your bag)

•Let your brain know it’s bed time by putting the blue lights away and choose something relaxing like a book, meditation, deep breathing, prayer or a podcast. (If you’ve got extra time, light a candle & choose a relaxing bath)

•And finally go to bed with gratitude on your mind by finding one thing from the day you can be grateful for.

Here are 3 ways to create healthy space for yourself today:

1. Give yourself permission to cry
a/o journal to release emotions.

2. Use your lunch break/time in the car for private space to do deep breathing practice or pray.

3. Log out of social media to give your mind room, if you’re overwhelmed. by @subdueyourday

As you prepare for your day, we encourage you to make prayer a part of your morning. Be it your time before you officially start the day, your commute in the car, or the first 5 minutes of your work day.

We create routines because it creates intentional space for the things that would otherwise get trampled by the speed of our day and responsibilities…like prayer.

Today pray for the hearts of the families & communities in Uvalde, Texas, Buffalo, NY & SoCal who’ve been shattered by mass murder.

Pray for the wisdom & action steps we each should take to press change in our state and local governments.

This is the reason we plan to subdue our days. So that we’re not left standing idly by, because we missed moments to be proactive.

Our favorite nutritionist @inspire.bewell is always reminding us to “unclench our jaw & breathe”. And as silly as it sounds, we’re often carrying the worries of the day in that tension without even realizing it.

We’re anxious about tomorrow. If we’ll really succeed at what we’re building. If all the work we’re putting in is actually enough. If we’ll see the things we were at one point crazy enough to believe in. If our families will reap the fruit of what we can’t yet see. I get it.

And then I’m reminded of Matthew 6:30, “And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”

You may not know right where you’re going friend, but I know Someone who does 😉 So unclench your jaw…take a deep breath. Allow God’s peace which surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind. You’ll live to subdue another day ☀️

Sharing my rainy day morning routine w @subdueyourday and also want to encourage you if daylight savings time threw you off as hard as it did me. It’s never too late to reset & restart.

I believe the perfect recipe for subduing your morning is made of 3 essentials:

1. Something to feed your spirit
2. Something to feed your mind
3. Something to feed your body

Connecting w God & yourself before you open an email or answer a text is key for clarity, wholeness and ensuring you don’t pour from an empty cup. But if you didn’t do any of those 3 today, consider these 3 new tools in your toolbox. Here’s your permission to create some space in the middle of your day, to give yourself what you need. It could be 5 mins or an hour.

What’d your morning consist of today? by @subdueyourday

You made it through the first Monday of daylight savings time. I know it kicked your butt, but you did it. You’ve got a lot of things on your plate, and I’m sure your mind is reminding you of that never ending list. But that fatigue in your body that’s telling you, you need a little extra rest to recover is telling the bigger truth. So here’s your friendly reminder that your best is dependent on your rest. Shut the laptop down, draw a bath if that’s your thing, take some time to jot down what you’re thankful for today and what your goals are for tomorrow and let’s prepare our minds & bodies for rest. Trust me, you’ll thank me in the morning 😉 #subdueyourevening #reelconsistent by @subdueyourday

Just like Your Spirit hovered over the waters before the earth was formed, Spirit of God hover over my day. Align me with Your perfect will. Just like the world was void and without form before You spoke, my day is a blank canvas ready to be molded and shaped into what You intended it to be . And just like the earth was formed by your word, today I seek you for the words and actions that will produce the life this day is meant to see. Help me to create by your design. Help me to invest by your design. Help me to produce by Your design. From the largest task to the tiniest detail. And when my work is done, just like You did, help me to rest by Your design. At the end of the day, may I be able to look back and say, “I walked in tandem with God.” If Your will is to be done on earth, as it is in Heaven, let it begin with me and my day, today. In Jesus name I pray amen by @subdueyourday
