❤️Parenting in 2026 looks nothing like parenting even 10 years ago.❤️ I often find myself wondering: ✨ What does independence look like when AI can think, write, plan, and problem-solve alongside our children? ✨ What does motivation look like in a world of instant gratification and constant digital stimulation? ✨ And what does sound decision-making look like when social media is fragmenting our collective attention and young people are navigating unprecedented pressures around mental health and belonging? These are not simply parenting questions. They are Executive Function Competence questions. How do we help our children learn to manage themselves, think for themselves, advocate for themselves, and ultimately make thoughtful choices for themselves? And what can parents do differently? I’m looking forward to exploring these important questions with parents from across Georgia and beyond—and sharing practical ways we can help young people strengthen the skills they need not simply to succeed in school, but to navigate life with greater agency, resilience, and confidence. Thank you IDA GA: International Dyslexia Association Georgia Branch and Parent To Parent Of Georgia for the invitation and for creating space for this important conversation! ❤️ Register Now: https://lnkd.in/eJFUmNAr ExQ® #ExecutiveFunction #ParentingIn2026 #ParentEducation #StudentSuccess #FutureReady SelfManagement Dyslexia AIandEducation ParentEmpowerment by @sucheta_kamath

✨⭐️✨The ACE Award✨⭐️✨ Honored. Grateful. Still Learning. ✨⭐️✨ I’m incredibly humbled to share that I have received my 13th Award for Continuing Education (ACE) from the The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (#ASHA). The ACE recognizes speech-language pathologists and audiologists who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional learning by completing extensive continuing education beyond licensure requirements. Receiving a 13th ACE Award represents hundreds of hours dedicated to deepening knowledge, refining clinical expertise, and staying at the forefront of our profession. For me, lifelong learning isn’t about collecting certificates—it’s about showing up better for the people I serve. Every course, conference, book, mentor, research paper, and meaningful conversation has shaped how I think about Executive Function, brain injury, neuroscience, leadership, education, and human potential. Each has made me a better clinician, educator, entrepreneur, and advocate. As professionals, we ask our students, clients, and colleagues to embrace growth. We owe it to them—and to ourselves—to model that same curiosity, humility, and commitment to continuous improvement. Thank you, ASHA, for recognizing the value of lifelong learning. And thank you to the many teachers, colleagues, mentors, clients, and students who continue to challenge and inspire me every day. Here’s to never stopping the pursuit of knowledge in service of helping others flourish. ❤️ #ASHA #slpeep #SpeechLanguagePathology #LifelongLearning ProfessionalDevelopment ExecutiveFunction Neuroscience BrainHealth Leadership ClinicalExcellence HumanFlourishing SpeechPathology AlwaysLearning by @sucheta_kamath
✨⭐️✨KEYNOTE to kick off the school-year✨⭐️✨ ✨ Honored and excited to kick off the 2026–2027 school year with the incredible leaders, educators and staff of Randolph County School System! ✨ There is something deeply meaningful about gathering before the first student walks through the doors—a moment when possibility outweighs pressure and intention has the power to shape an entire year. This year, I'll be delivering a 90-minute keynote: “Magic of the Frontal Lobes: Executive Function Lens for Growth and Success.” Executive Function is the brain's leadership system. It is the hidden driver behind:✨ Purposeful goal-setting✨ Strategic planning and organization✨ Emotional agility and resilience✨ Adaptability in the face of change✨ Intentional decision-making✨ Meaningful relationships and leadership Kids need strong Executive Function skills; and adults needed even more. Dysregulation in the classroom, in the hallways, on the playground, in the computer lab, in the cafeteria, or in the cyberspace can cause unimaginable disruption in not just learning, but in mental health of children as well as adults. Eager to present my unique a framework of human flourishing that emphasizes Executive Function as the key that unlocks the hidden potential in all of us! 💫 Feeling inspired. 💫 Feeling fulfilled. 💫 Feeling incredibly grateful. Just came back from lunch and had to make this post! As a speech-language pathologist, brain injury specialist, and Executive Function expert, I have the privilege of witnessing something extraordinary: the brain’s remarkable capacity to heal, adapt, and transform. Over the years, I’ve hoped that my clinical expertise, teaching, and relationships would leave a meaningful imprint on the lives of those I’ve had the honor to serve. Today, I received one of those unforgettable reminders. One of my former patients has written a book about her recovery journey following a traumatic brain injury. It is a remarkable story of resilience, perseverance, and hope. I was deeply touched to discover that she mentioned me as one of the people who helped guide her along the way. ❤️ There is no greater privilege than walking beside someone through one of life’s hardest seasons and witnessing what is possible when determination, support, and the human brain come together. ❤️Moments like these remind me why I do this work.❤️ 💫How’s your day going?💫 ExQ Infinite know how Full PreFrontal #BrainHealth #Neuroplasticity #SpeechLanguagePathology #Leadership #HumanPotential #Resilience #MakingADifference by @sucheta_kamath
✨⭐️ 🍎 A New School Year. A New Opportunity to Build Better Thinkers. 🍎 ⭐️✨ As another academic year begins, I find myself feeling deeply grateful. Every August, millions of students walk through school doors carrying dreams, potential, and promise. Yet success in school—and in life—is determined by far more than academic knowledge alone. I have the privilege of partnering with courageous school districts across the country that have made a bold decision: They are intentionally teaching Executive Function with ExQ Infinite know how. 🍎 Not as an add-on. 🍎 Not as another initiative. 🍎Not just as an Tier II or Tier III intervention 🍎Not simply focused on supporting students in alternative settings 🍎 But as a strategic investment in the future of EVERY learner. I want to publicly recognize the visionary superintendents, school boards, principals, and district leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership by: ✨ Creating dedicated instructional time for Executive Function. ✨ Establishing courses focused on self-management, strategic thinking, and future readiness. ✨ Designing COURSE CREDIT and offering grades for lesson completions ✨ Empowering carefully selected teachers to become champions of the cognitive skills students need to thrive beyond graduation. Innovation isn’t simply adopting new technology. True innovation is redesigning learning around the skills that matter most. 🙏I simply say, thank you!!!🙏 #ExecutiveFunction #EducationLeadership #StudentSuccess #FutureReady #CollegeAndCareerReadiness #SchoolInnovation #TransformativeLeadership #InnovateEducation #StrategicLeadership #StudentLeadership by @sucheta_kamath
‼️It's time to retire the term "soft skills."‼️ Here's why. 🌟Self-discipline predicts academic performance more than twice as strongly as IQ.🌟 Read that again. For decades, we've invested enormous time measuring intelligence, ranking students, and optimizing academic content. Yet one of the strongest predictors of whether students will actually succeed isn't IQ at all. It's self-discipline. Angela Duckworth and Martin Seligman demonstrated this over 20 years ago. Their research found that self-discipline was a far more powerful predictor of academic performance than intelligence. Yet in most schools, self-discipline is still treated as a personality trait—something students either have or don't. That's a mistake. Self-discipline is not a character trait. It is the outward expression of a set of Executive Function skills:✅ Goal-directed persistence✅ Inhibitory control✅ Emotional regulation✅ Planning✅ Task initiation✅ Self-monitoring And unlike IQ... 🌟Executive Function can be explicitly taught, practiced, measured, and strengthened. If we truly want to prepare students for college, careers, and life, we have to stop treating these as "soft skills." They're not soft. 🌟They're the cognitive infrastructure behind every meaningful achievement. 🌟The future of education isn't teaching students more information. 🌟It's teaching students how to direct themselves. #ExecutiveFunction #FutureOfEducation #EducationLeadership #CollegeAndCareerReadiness #StudentSuccess #LearningSciences #SchoolLeadership #EdLeadership #BrainBasedLearning ExQ Infinite know how Source: Duckworth, A. 🚀 It’s 2026. Maybe it’s time we retire the phrase “soft skills” and start using the science behind them: #ExecutiveFunction. 🌟Have you hired someone recently? What’s one quality you hope every new employee brings to the job? For many employers, the answer is simple: ⭐ “We want a self-starter.” But here’s the question… What is a self-starter? For decades we’ve treated it as a personality trait—something people either have or don’t. Neuroscience tells us otherwise. Being a self-starter depends largely on Task Initiation, an Executive Function skill that enables someone to begin a task without excessive prompting or external pressure. Closely connected is Goal-Directed Persistence—the ability to stay engaged until the work is done. These aren’t personality traits. They’re cognitive skills. And cognitive skills can be intentionally taught, practiced, strengthened, and measured. That’s why this conversation matters. When employers say graduates lack communication, adaptability, accountability, initiative, resilience, or time management, they’re often describing gaps in Executive Function—not character. If we continue treating these as “soft skills,” we’ll keep addressing the symptoms instead of building the underlying capacities. Georgia has made workforce readiness and performance outcomes a statewide priority. I hope we’ll begin framing these conversations through the lens of Executive Function and intentionally equip K–12 students with the cognitive skills that power success in college, careers, and life. This week, I’m launching a new series: Name It Each post will take one “soft skill” employers consistently ask for and reveal the Executive Function skill underneath it—and why that distinction changes how we prepare the next generation of talent. So let’s start here… What “soft skill” have you seen make—or break—someone’s success at work? 👇 Drop it in the comments. I’ll identify the Executive Function skill behind it. 💎🎓🌟 Washington State just proposed making “adulting” a graduation requirement. 💎🎓🌟   Its State Superintendent Chris Reykdal wants every senior to take a yearlong course: résumés, financial aid, voter registration, job and college applications. His reasoning is exactly right — too many students leave K–12 unprepared for independence. This is a great start!!! And I want to build on that, because there’s a layer underneath it that decides whether any of it works.   You can teach a 17-year-old how to fill out a FAFSA in October. But whether they actually complete it in March — after the reminders stop, after the teacher who walked alongside them is gone — depends on something a checklist can’t teach: the ability to initiate, plan, hold a goal in mind, and follow through when no one’s watching.   That capacity has a name. Executive Function.   It’s the difference between knowing what to do and being able to do it independently. And unlike a form, it’s not a one-time lesson — it’s a trainable cognitive skill, like reading or math.   Every “soft skill” employers say graduates lack — self-starting, managing priorities, resilience under pressure, follow-through — is an Executive Function skill. A launch course teaches the tasks. Executive Function builds the person who can carry them out for the rest of their life.   Washington has the right instinct. The next step, for every state, is to build the capacity underneath the checklist so every student is capable of independent decision making, self management and critical decision making ~ essential to self-sufficient adulting.   Who’s ready to teach students not just what to do — but how to become someone who does it? ✨⭐️✨ Elevating Mental Well-Being for Women in Leadership ✨⭐️✨ It was an honor to be invited to speak with the incredible Customer Solutions Managers at AWS about one of today’s most important leadership challenges: protecting our mental edge in an “always on” world. My session, “Always On, Always Drained: Protecting Your Mental Edge and Preventing Burnout with Executive Function,” explored how Executive Function skills help us manage cognitive overload, make better decisions under pressure, sustain high performance, and lead with greater clarity, resilience, and intention. Leadership isn’t about doing more—it’s about thinking better, recovering intentionally, and protecting the cognitive capacity that allows us to bring our best to others. A heartfelt thank you to Kavita Chhabria and Sree Anand Ratnasinghe for the wonderful invitation and words of warm welcome AND for championing conversations that prioritize the well-being and success of women leaders.
