Every brand has a story. This is ours. When I opened the very first Sugarcoat in Buckhead, I met someone who, by all accounts, should have been my competitor. Instead, she became my friend. Our salons were just one shopping center apart. Whenever Georgia State Board came to inspect her salon, she would call me to let me know they were in the area so I could be prepared. In an industry where competition is common, she chose generosity over rivalry. About a year after I opened Sugarcoat, she passed away from lung cancer after years of working around toxic salon chemicals. Her passing deeply affected me. Before opening any additional Sugarcoat locations, I made a commitment that would shape our company forever. I promised myself that if Sugarcoat continued to grow, we would build our salons differently. We would invest in proper exhaust and ventilation systems, prioritize non-toxic products whenever possible, and create an environment that protects the health of both our team and our guests. That promise became one of Sugarcoat’s guiding missions. Beauty should never come at the cost of someone’s health. Every Sugarcoat location we’ve opened since has been built with that mission in mind. It’s more than a business decision, it’s a promise inspired by someone whose kindness I will never forget. #SugarcoatLife #SugarcoatBeauty #HealthySalon #NonToxicBeauty #FounderStory BeautyWithPurpose ExcellenceInService by @sugarcoatbeauty
