A story in numbers
Started to learn and play tennis 21 years ago (almost to the date)
Played 6 tournaments in total in all these years
Lost all 7 matches/ sets played
Until past week ie when I
Played 4 matches/ sets
Won all 4 &
Won the tournament

(I guess this song could play in any player's mind on the match point who like me hadn't won ever before 😄)
Thanks to @dishant_yadav_9927 and @thrive_sfc for letting me fulfill a longstanding wish of winning even a single set/ match, let alone a tournament 😁 by @opiniontandoor

by @opiniontandoor

Went for a morning run after almost a month because the air pollution came down slightly. While the entire country was focussed on the air choking with pollution and smog in Delhi, people didn't notice that air quality had turned bad in most Indian cities too. Agra was one of them. Even today the aqi which should ideally be under 50 or at least 100 for strenuous activities like running or sports outside, was close to 150. Don't let the sunlight fool you. Asmaan ka rasta itna bhi nahi khula hai after all. But the apathetic public that we're, even our doctors suggest that in under 150 aqi air, "healthy" people can still go exercise outside. So I did, assuming that I'm healthy, but who knows. So I use my assumed privilege to ask what about those who have respiratory or cardiac or other health conditions who are adversely impacted by air pollution? And what about the healthy people as well? Will they remain so for a long time in such conditions?
The most prominent pollutant in agra is PM 10 which is mostly generated because of construction activities among other things. Right now the entire city is dug up due to metro work (which if I might say is wasted in even metro cities let alone a small city like agra). Then there are massive construction activities because of multiple other projects in many parts of the city. With such widespread air pollution, isn't it time that our urban local bodies prioritise public health and coordinate with various public bodies in charge of various ongoing projects to have them a staggered start ie having as little overlap with each other to let the city breathe both figuratively and literally? And what about the public? Are we even prioritising air pollution as an issue? Are we demanding from our governments and civic bodies any concrete steps to tackle this issue that'll have long lasting impacts even on future generations? Also how many of us are willing to take some steps ourselves? Are we willing to use public transport? If there is none, are we demanding from our local bodies for the same? Or are we going to keep living in these conditions while we sit in our ac cars, merely going "tch tch, kya ho gaya hai sab jagah"? by @opiniontandoor
