Every senior deserves moments of joy, connection, and community. 💗

That’s the heart behind Stolen Moments, a program presented by Survived to Live for Women in Recovery designed to bring laughter, creativity, conversation, and care back into everyday life for seniors in our community.

From bingo Wednesdays to movie nights, planting flowers, self-care days, and line dancing — these gatherings create something many people take for granted: moments to look forward to.

📍 All activities take place at Lonnie Burten Recreation Center

✨ Weekly Bingo every Wednesday at Noon
✨ Stolen Moments gatherings held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

🗓 Next Stolen Moments Event:
💃🏾 May 16 – Line Dancing

We are currently looking for:
🦋 Volunteers to assist with setup, cleanup, activities, and supporting residents during programming
🦋 Community sponsors and donors to help provide supplies, refreshments, prizes, activity materials, and experiences for seniors

A small donation can help create a meaningful moment for someone who simply wants to feel connected, seen, and celebrated.

If you would like to volunteer, donate, sponsor an activity, or contribute supplies, please send us a message to learn how you can support the program.

Because small moments can make a big difference. 💕 by @survivedtolive_

Today was a beautiful reminder of the power of community and connection.

As a board member of Survived to Live for Women in Recovery, I had the honor of spending the day in Amish Country alongside an incredible group of women. It was a chance to slow down, laugh, reflect, and simply be present with one another—moments that matter deeply on the journey to healing and growth.

I’m especially grateful to Lonnie Burten Recreation Center for providing transportation and to Neighborhood Leadership Development Program for funding this experience. Because of your support, days like this are possible.

These are the moments that remind me why this work matters—creating space for women to feel seen, supported, and connected.

Grateful for today, and even more excited for what’s ahead. by @survivedtolive_

✨ Help the Senior Women in Your Life Find Their “Stolen Moment” ✨
Do you have a mother, grandmother, aunt, or dear friend in the Ward 5 community who deserves a little extra joy?

Yesterday we wrapped up our “Blooming & Growing” series for April, and it was a beautiful sight! Our seniors spent the last few weeks at the Lonnie Burten Recreation Center getting their hands in the dirt and planting spring flowers. Seeing the pride and smiles as they nurtured new life was a powerful reminder that we are never too old to grow and bloom.

Our “Stolen Moments” program is designed to bring that exact kind of laughter and light back into everyday life. We’ve created a space where the incredible senior women of the Central Neighborhood can relax, socialize, and truly shine.

We invite you to share this with the women who inspire you. Whether they love a spirited game of Bingo or are looking forward to our upcoming self-care sessions, we have a seat waiting for them.

🌸 Upcoming Moments for Our Ward 5 Seniors 🌸
Help your loved ones mark their calendars! All events held at:

📍 Lonnie Burten Recreation Center | 2511 East 46th St, Cleveland, OH 44104

Weekly Fun:
Wednesday Bingo: Every Wednesday at Noon

Self Care & Soul Series (Saturdays, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM):
• May 2nd: Self Care Day – A chance to relax, recharge, and prioritize wellness.
• May 16th: Line Dance Practice – Get moving, enjoy the music, and have a blast with neighbors! by @survivedtolive_

Hey Butterflies! 🦋

We’re excited to launch the Stolen Moments Series — a new initiative creating space for senior women to gather, connect, and share moments of joy and community.

Too often our elders experience isolation, yet they carry the wisdom and strength that have sustained our communities for generations. This series is our way of honoring them.

Join us twice a month on Saturdays at the Lonnie Burten Recreation Center for curated programming, activities, and connection. We’ll also support the beloved Bingo sessions in honor of Ms. Margaret and the Margaret Bonner Bingo Foundation.

Special thanks to the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program for their generous support as we continue doing this work in our community. 💜

Hey Butterflies! We had a great time at the @cityofcleveland Employment and Resource Success Fair. It was amazing to see all of the Cleveland Residents taking initiative to make progress towards a better life. We had so much fun talking with you all and giving words of encouragement. We passed out our signature mustard seed necklaces, Narcan kits, and medication disposal packs. Thank you again for all of your support on this journey 🧡
