Okay Toronto… am I the only one seeing this thing EVERYWHERE?

I have questions. What IS this thing?

If there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s to stay curious and ask questions.

Tell me what you think is going on? by @susete_isabel

OVER 8 MILLION VIEWS. ONE VIDEO.
A LIFE FOREVER CHANGED❤️

REPOST.

Three years ago, I shared a video that I never imagined would reach over 8 MILLION people. 🥹

That video didn’t just reach millions of screens… it changed the direction of my life.

Today, I’m reposting it because I know there are still so many people out there struggling in silence, ignoring symptoms, feeling scared, or simply not knowing where to turn.

And if sharing my story helps even ONE person recognize that something isn’t right, make that doctor’s appointment, or feel a little less alone, then sharing it all over again is worth it. ❤️

I’m asking you for three little things:

❤️ FOLLOW ME so we can continue this journey together.

🔁 SHARE THIS VIDEO to your stories. You never know who needs to see it today.

💌 MESSAGE ME if you have questions about my cancer journey. I’m an open book. No shame, no judgment. I’m always willing to share my experience.

And please, if there’s ONE thing I want you to take away from my story, it’s this:

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.

Stop ignoring the signs. Stop putting off that doctor’s appointment. Stop convincing yourself that it’s probably nothing.

Whatever it is, please get it checked.

Because the time you refuse to make for your health today may become time you’re forced to make for it tomorrow.

I learned that lesson in a way I never imagined I would.

Three years later, I’m still here. Still sharing. Still learning. Still cheering for every single one of you. ❤️

You have no idea how many people are fighting battles behind smiles.

Be kind. Check on your people. And most importantly, take good care of YOURSELF.

With so much love,

Your biggest cheerleader,

Susete ❤️

How many women are being told it’s “just perimenopause” when it’s actually something far more serious?

At 40 years old, I thought I was dealing with perimenopause…
but it turned out to be stage 4 cancer.

September 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 4 follicular lymphoma.

For the longest time, I brushed off my symptoms thinking they were hormonal changes or part of getting older. But my body was trying to warn me that something much more serious was going on.

Some of the symptoms I experienced were:
• Drenching night sweats for over a year
• Swollen abdomen
• A swollen lymph node in my groin (almost 3 inches)
• Loss of appetite
• Sudden weight loss while my stomach stayed swollen
• Extreme exhaustion, I constantly wanted to sleep 😩

When I finally got answers, the oncologist told me the cancer had spread everywhere:
• Above and below my diaphragm
• Neck
• Abdomen
• Armpits
• Groin
• Supraclavicular lymph nodes
…and even into my bone marrow.

I went through 6 rounds of chemotherapy (Bendamustine + Rituximab), and thankfully, hair loss was not a major side effect of my treatment 🙏🏻 They told me only about 1 in 5 people experience hair thinning with this chemo combination.

I also truly believe the hair products I used helped support healthy growth and minimize shedding during one of the hardest times in my life ❤️

If you’re struggling with thinning or shedding and want to know what helped me, comment “HAIR” and I’ll personally send you the information and recommendations myself 💌

Most importantly, please share this video.
Awareness matters.

Not every symptom is “just perimenopause,” and I can’t help but wonder how long I was walking around ignoring signs my body was trying to give me.

You’re going to be okay. Is all I wanted to hear sometimes🫶

For a long time, I struggled with my mental health quietly.

There were days when I looked fine on the outside, but inside, I was fighting battles no one could see.

During those moments, getting my hair done always brought a little sparkle back to my eye.

Because I learned that feeling beautiful isn’t just about hair! iI’s about feeling seen, cared for, and valued.

That’s why being a hairstylist means so much to me❤️

Today, I’m volunteering at CAMH, using something I love to hopefully give someone else that same feeling.

Because I know what it’s like to need support.

And now, I get to be the person who shows up for someone else.

If you’re struggling, please don’t suffer in silence. Reach out. Ask for help. And check in on someone you love.

You never know when a little kindness can bring someone’s sparkle back. ❤️ by @susete_isabel

It’s never too late! Stage 4 cancer didn’t make me give up on my dreams. It made me finally go after them. ❤️

At 42, I walked into hair school to chase the dream I had as a little girl. @marca_college

I had no idea where it would take me.
I just knew I didn’t want to keep waiting for “the right time.”

Today, I’m a hairstylist… at a high end salon in Yorkville Toronto. @tazhairco

If you’re waiting for the perfect age, the perfect moment, or the perfect circumstances to start…

This is your sign.

You are NOT too old.
You are NOT too late.
And your dream is NOT ridiculous.

Sometimes life reminds us just how precious our time is.

Stop waiting. Go for it. Your next chapter could be your best one yet. ❤️

Send this to someone who needs to hear:
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE
and this is the youngest you’ll ever be! by @susete_isabel

Three years ago today, my life changed forever.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at 40. And for a while, cancer made me question what my future was even going to look like.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something huge…

I didn’t want to wait for the “perfect time” to live my life anymore.

At 42, I decided to go after a dream I had carried with me since I was a teenager, becoming a hairstylist.

It was scary. I was starting over. But I did it anyway.

And today, I’m standing behind the chair, doing what I once only dreamed about.

I’m living my dream. ❤️

If you’re going through cancer right now, I want you to know this:

Your diagnosis may be part of your story, but it does not have to be the end of it.

Take it one day at a time. Hold onto the things that bring you joy. And if there’s something you’ve always wanted to do…

Don’t keep waiting for tomorrow.

Because sometimes, the life you’re afraid you might lose becomes the very reason you finally start living it.

Three years later, I’m still here.
Still dreaming.
Still growing.
Still grateful.

And I’m just getting started. ❤️

OVER 6 MILLION views is INSANITY to me. 🥹✨
I’m so grateful for all the love and support this little hairline transformation received.

THIS IS NOT A DIY 😂

And thank you to all the new followers for being here I’m so happy to have you here with me.
First…
I’m an apprentice and was experimenting at home!

I do not recommend trying this unless you want those tiny baby hairs around your hairline to break off. Call your colorist and let them do it the right way. 🤍
Also sharing the toner because someone called me a “yellow chicken” aka “Amarillo pollo” 😂💛

Anyway, this technique creates a softer, brighter, sun-kissed look by lightening those fine baby hairs around the hairline. It brightened my face, softened my regrowth, and added the perfect pop of blonde.
To every apprentice out there: keep learning, keep practicing, and don’t be afraid to experiment
(safely😉).

Every hairstylist starts somewhere. ✨

Toner I used:
L’Oréal Dia Color 9.21 + 9.13 with 9% vol for 20 minutes 💁🏼‍♀️
Would you try hairline lightening? 👇 by @susete_isabel
