Love Without Words

My baby girl Chiquita passed away on January 26,2026 and this is a letter I wrote to reflect all the lessons she left behind to let go with love and honoring her memory. 🐱 ❤️ 🪽

The greatest testament of honor I can offer my Chiquita is to honor the love she gave me…the kind of love one spends an eternity searching for. A love that is pure, untouched by ego & absence, but present, sovereign, and rooted in kindness.

Cats are independent souls who choose their human, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have crossed paths with Chiquita. I found her as a neglected baby, hesitant to trust again. With time, she learned what true care and love meant, and that is how she healed and entrusted me with the most honorable duty.

She became a playful spirit, a loving pocket of sunshine, though even that feels like an understatement to describe her. Through quiet, consistent actions, she showed me what it truly means to be cared for. A true friend, more than a friend, my family.

I found her in a hopeless place, believing I was rescuing her. But in truth, she was the one who saved me, in ways I will never fully have words for…only my deepest gratitude.

Through every season of my life, she loved me unwaveringly. And I feel truly honored, because one can spend a lifetime trying to win a cat’s heart, nonetheless they are sovereign beings who choose their bonds… and she chose me.

It was a privilege to care for her and to stay with her until her last breath. Because love does not need to be spoken.

It is proven through quiet, wordless presence. by @sushilady

Ca’d’Zan Venetian gothic mansion. I recently finished watching Hurrem Sultan and I’m still in awe how the Ottoman Empire influenced a vast majority of the architectural footprint, even years thereafter. This mansion, especially reminded me of Sultana Nurbanu who was Venetian & later became one of the most powerful figures in world history. by @sushilady

The secret garden jk, I highly recommend to go & see this place, not only because of its architecture, but the history behind the art work. The best part it’s free on Mondays! by @sushilady
