BY HAND SERIES 🥖🍞

Behind every great thing, there’s usually someone who cared enough to make it by hand. This one is about bread.

At SUUR, every loaf starts with something so simple — flour, water and the patient hands of a baker who knows how to bring it all together.

Appreciating bread starts with touch. Feeling the dough beneath your hands. Understanding how it changes and how all the elements work together. Knowing when to knead it and when to just let it be.

There are no shortcuts. A good loaf takes time and an understanding that comes from feeling your way through the process.

And perhaps that’s what makes it so rewarding — when it all comes together and the final product made with your hands becomes something you can share, eat and enjoy.

Some things are just better when they’re made by hand.
Not because it’s the easiest way.
Not because it’s the fastest way.
It’s because there’s something about putting your hands on the work that machines simply can’t replicate.

This is the second story in our BY HAND series, celebrating the people who use their hands, their skill and their passion to create something extraordinary.

📍 Suur, Cape Town city centre ☕🥐
☕ Cappuccino: rich, smooth and perfectly made
🥐 Almond & chocolate croissant: honestly the BEST croissant I’ve ever had. Massive, heavy, buttery dough, super tasty and so filling. One is a meal!
🥯 Came back another day for the chicken bagel, and it was just as good
💰 Cappuccino R36 · Croissants R35–R40
📱 Tip: they have a WhatsApp line, so you can order ahead or check if the almond croissants are still in stock before you go (they’re popular!)
