Finally back @orchardcitykitchen for lunch! Not going to lie. I was sad when I heard a few months ago the Triple B and KFC—my two OG faves—were no longer on the menu. So I was thrilled when @chefjeffreystout explained they’re back—just in a new form. 😜 Loved the roasted conehead cabbage, new Triple B (bacon, biscuits, honey butter), and fried chicken sandwich with miso-mango sauce and chili crunch. Plus our sweet treats: soft-serve with olive oil and the blackberry cheesecake. 🙏 Next time: the new KFC! #siliconvalley by @svwinelist

Fabulous catchup lunch with a friend @valleygoatsv yesterday. Everything sounded delicious and all our selections wowed in presentation and flavors! 💥 Loved the colorful space and chill vibes. It’s such stellar spot for a sunny day, with dog-friendly outdoor seating. They’re turning one soon, and I hope to make it back for the anniversary celebration. Pro tip: valet parking only @staytreehouse (unless you try to park in the Google lot) but it’s complimentary if you’re dining at Valley Goat. by @svwinelist

Such a lovely evening @clarksoysterbar in Menlo Park last week! Andrew and Matt brought @scribewinery hospitality to the Peninsula, along with my spring allocation. 🙌 The rosé paired perfectly with the oysters, and we all appreciated the stellar Estate Hillside Pinot Noir. And I discovered my new go-to New England clam chowder!

Thanks again for the special delivery and VIP SVS experience! @scribewine @scribeland_wonderland ❤️ by @svwinelist

OMG this was gooood! Stopped by the soft open of @mad_yolks in Willow Glen this morning, and tried The Classic and some plain tots. Both were delish! I’ll be back! BTW everything is 10% off during soft open week. by @svwinelist

Living a very California dream moment processing my homegrown Comstock tomatoes while listening to @alicelouisewaters on @kqed Forum talk about how people need to grow their own food and can. 🍅❤️🍅❤️🍅 #fangirl by @svwinelist

The “Ruth Asawa: Retrospective” exhibit was as amazing as I knew it would be. As a Japanese-American, I’ve always been proud of and drawn to her artwork. Her ability to transform a material as basic as wire into delicate, beautiful sculptures is inspiring. Kudos to the museum’s staff for perfectly installing and lighting the artwork to really highlight her artistry’s multidimensional nuances. I hope to revisit before the show closes on September 2. #SFMOMA #art #ruthasawa #sculpture #sanfrancisco #museum #artist #publicart by @svwinelist

Late #fathersday post in remembrance of my dad, who would have celebrated his birthday this month. After he retired he started cooking more. My mom had always cooked family meals, but he knew how to do things like grow a bountiful veggie garden, make traditional Japanese pickles, catch and smoke/can salmon and albacore, cure olives with lye — all self-taught, perfected through many iterations, then captured in handwritten recipes. One of the kitchen items I inherited when I cleared out my parent’s house was this grill. He used it to make delicious saba shioyaki. Love seeing how he marked his settings with a Sharpie. 😛 Turns out this @panasonic grill, which sat on my closet shelf for many years, works really well! This might be the first time it’s cooked Vietnamese-style food, but who knows? He was obsessed with @foodnetwork shows. #cooking #happyfathersday by @svwinelist

Came across an online recipe for one of my favorite summer #desserts. I used to bake this Black Dog Bakery Cafe #blueberry #buttercake every year for July 4th, but haven’t been baked in a while. So good! Now if I could just find the cookbook that I bought @theblackdogbakerycafe years ago in Martha’s Vineyard. If I loaned it to you, please return it. 😉 by @svwinelist

Another gorgeous stay @dillonbeachresort! ❤️ Enjoying my last morning in bed with coffee and pastries from @routeonebakeryandkitchen. #squeeze #soco #marin #dillonbeach #sonoma #california #staycation #ospreycabin1 by @svwinelist

Whether you’re looking for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift or need a little boost for your soul (and soul food) to deal with 2025, this wall of gift boxes @penzey_spices will make your world or a loved one’s a little brighter and a lot more delicious! I was so sad when someone told me the Penzey’s Spices store in Menlo Park had closed, but I was thrilled to see that wasn’t true. Now I can spice bathe whenever I need a sensory boost! #siliconvalley #menlopark #giftideas #disinformation #spices #cooking #care #chooselove #happyvalentinesday by @svwinelist

Such a beautiful day over the hill! I had a fabulous lunch @dospescadosaptos. This charming restaurant has amazing views and even better food. The Baja fish tacos had an incredibly light but crisp batter (possibly the best I’ve ever had) and the kampachi crudo with leche de tigre was on par with the excellent raw fish delicacies at sister restaurant @onefishrawbar. Great seeing @cheftrent1 in his element and achieving great things with his new spot. Highly recommend making a special trip to Seascape to dine here. It’s absolutely worth the drive. Thank you, Chef Trent, Chris, and Payton for the hospitality! #seascape #aptos #santacruz #fishtacos #crudo #seafood by @svwinelist

I celebrated my birthday @cheznoircarmel last Monday. Even though I’ve dined solo at @michelinguide starred restaurants (@cyrusalexandervalley) and had a lovely time, it was still a little daunting. I needn’t have worried though, as Katie seated me next to a lovely couple celebrating the 38th anniversary of their blind date! It’s such an intimate restaurant — 10 tables — that they overheard it was my birthday and struck up a conversation that lasted the entire dinner. Combined with the delectable cuisine and attentive hospitality, their convivial spirit made the evening one to remember! @cheznoircarmel is charming gem, and I hope to be able to visit again soon. Although everything was fabulous, I particularly enjoyed the abalone amuse bouche and the @borbafamilyfarms eggplant agnolotti — and I’m not typically a fan of eggplant! Thank you to @nathaniel__cohen for the wine recos! I always like to support local producers, like @vocalvineyards. But I couldn’t pass up ending the evening with a Nasty Giuseppe, which paired perfectly with the chocolate sabayon tart. #finedining #happybirthday #carmelbythesea #michelin #michelinstar #hospitality #amaro #bitters #champagne #brutnature #nasturtium by @svwinelist
