POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s been forever since I’ve done a Meet the Bookstagrammer so I thought why not throw one up in honor of my Birthday today.

I may be working today but I’m still going to enjoy some of my favorite things, books and NOLA!

Now for the fun facts:

I started this Bookstagram almost 5 years ago and have grown it into a community I just love. I’ve made some incredible friends. Some I talk to almost as much as my in person friends. I’ve gotten to meet some in real life and I am so happy I’ve gotten to squeeze them with huge in person hugs.

One of my favorite things to do is find new restaurants in New Orleans and experience the atmosphere and incredible food.

I love fashion and always wish I had followed that dream of working for one of the big luxury houses.

I’m also your go to girl when it comes to handbags. I love to chat about them and collect them. If you are in the market for a new one let me know and I’ll happily provide and con all the bags with you.

I LOVE to travel and also wish this could be my job. Paris is always a good idea but so is Capri. Planning a big birthday trip to Australia in a couple of years so if you have any recommendations I am all ears.

You can usually find me weekend mornings at a local coffee shop taking book pics or just relaxing while reading before I head into work.

I’m a huge romance and thriller girlie.

Definitely a mood reader. Will go into slumps if the mood doesn’t hit just right.

I have two adorable Labs, Murphy and Benson. You can usually catch a glimpse of their antics in my stories from time to time.

My favorite time of year in NOLA is right now. The weather is perfect and there is usually some festival happening. All the food and music you could ever need.

My other favorite thing to do is visit the local Indie Bookstores around town. New Orleans has so many incredible Indies. They have all been so good to me and the NOLA community.

That’s all for now but I’ll try to make this a regular thing to catch up any new followers.

Cheers to the universe throwing me a solar eclipse for my Birthday! 🥳 💜 by @sweethoneyandbrei

What a 47 year old wears to run around a conference for 15 hours on Day 2.

I am all about comfort and these pieces definitely bring the comfort. I also wanted to look out together and I think the plaid in these pants are super chic.

It’s all about simple easy pieces this week.

Correction on the top name. It is the Coralee.

I may not be the person that dresses up for Halloween but I absolutely love it! It may be my favorite holiday. I was running against the clock to do something spooky but managed to fit all my spooky fun in on one day.

I made sure to pass by @skeletonhousenola on my way to see @danec40 @newandcompany for new hair and to get rid of my unwanted grey friends 🤣. I wasn’t planning on stopping because I thought for sure it would be packed with people. As I approached I saw there were only three people taking a look. So I immediately pulled over and stopped to enjoy. I absolutely love this house. They are so creative and it is mostly different every year. If you are ever in NOLA and it’s October you must stop.

Driving down St. Charles I did see some more fun houses that made me want to take a stroll and see how cute everything was but I was on a time crunch today.

I needed to get to the main event. @the.gardendistrictbookshop was helping @christopher.rice.writer celebrate his mom Anne Rice and the 50th anniversary of Interview With A Vampire. The event was so much fun and I got to hear one of my all time favorite authors talk about what Anne meant to her. I love Leigh Bardugo so it was fantastic to just be in the same room as her. I know everyone was there for Anne but I’ll be honest I was there for Leigh. That Ninth House series is one of my favorite series and I am always recommending it.

Another reason I was there was to meet Christopher in person. @scaredstraightreads says he is fabulous. He was! Dennis 90% of our convo was why weren’t you in NOLA!? You would love this weekend. So next year you must come!

Had a fabulous time! Learned so much about Anne and Interview With a Vampire.

Had some fun talking about my shoes and fragrance I was wearing. So all in all the day was everything I expected it to be and more!

Hoping next year to attend the vampire ball and get Dennis and @reneeahdieh here for it all. by @sweethoneyandbrei

Just the essentials while getting my hair done. The newest @lbardugo and a @cocacola Cherry!

I am going to get to see Leigh later this afternoon at an Anne Rice book event. Here’s to manifesting I run into her in the wild.

Loving this latest installment of the Ninth house series. I feel like I have been waiting forever. Anyone else read or reading this one? by @sweethoneyandbrei

What I have been reading lately.

I ran out to get BACK WHERE WE STARTED by Becca Freeman the minute it came out. I thought this was so sweet and really enjoyed Becca’s sophomore novel. Celebrity normal person romance set in a Hallmark like small town.

Next up was ALCHEMY OF SECRETS by Stephanie Garber. I didn’t realize this has a second book coming out. Not sure if it will be a series or just two books. This was fun. A lot of characters but they each served a purpose. She did a great job that I didn’t guess what was really happening. I’ll definitely pick up the next book when it comes out.

Last is FIRST AND FOREVER by Lynn Painter. This is her adult romance that I stayed up way too late to read and finish last night. I cackled so much from chapter one to the last page. This was adorable and I want more of this world in my life.

There you have it. What I have been reading. Now I don’t know what to choose next. Any ideas drop them in the comments.

FIRST AND FOREVER was gifted by @berkleyromance. Thank you for the gifted book! All other books were purchased. by @sweethoneyandbrei

Louis Vuitton Capucines Mini Icone

This stunning bag is made of Python leather in this rich Burgandy color.

The flower crown is made of resin. It’s stunning against the metallic Burgandy palette.

The interior is lined with goatskin and comes with a strap so you can crossbody your bag.

I am completely obsessed with the color and sparkle on this bag.

Would be the perfect date night or Mardi Gras Ball bag to compliment your look.

Have you been influenced lately? I have. I kept seeing people with the new Dior Lip balm and I just had to have it.

I found it in stock and grabbed it as fast as I could.

I think this is the gift you give your beauty obsessed friend. It’s an adorable medallion. An ode to the Dior house of the past.

This lip balm is going to look adorable coming out of my bag.

Now tell me what have you been influenced to buy lately?

Pochette Métis PM in Monogram Canvas.

Obsessed with this new piece. The cognac accents make this bag look so rich.

Loving the two strap options. The short strap is fantastic for those times you only want a shoulder bag. The long leather strap are great for those times you may want to crossbody the bag. Both have great strap drop and wear really well.

The inside is absolutely stunning! Has lots of room still even though it is a smaller version of the original.

They did get rid of the zipper on the back. But that doesn’t detract from the beauty. I kind of like the no zipper look.

If you are in the market for an everyday bag I think the new Pochette Métis PM should be in the running. by @sweethoneyandbrei

I have some Bad Words for the car dealership but I’ll save them for my survey. 🤣 Kind of ironic that my book title matched how I felt today.

Started BAD WORDS after hearing all the hype. Still not sure how I feel about the book but I will keep going. Parts intrigue me. Other parts make me want to skip whole sections. Maybe I was expecting more of an Emily Henry push pull. This one is super high brow. I shall see where I shake out.

Plotting my critic of the dealership as I read my book. by @sweethoneyandbrei

I know it’s only October but you never know when people will need gifts. Showcasing some of my favorite gifting ideas today. by @sweethoneyandbrei

Last and Now for my reading life.

I don’t know how I missed these coming out but I have already made my way through one. Finished last night.

I loved the Inheritance Games series and have reasonably enjoyed the Grandest Game series. I think I am on the last book. I haven’t done the research yet to know if that is correct. Sorry you guys! You are lucky or rather I am lucky I am actually reading lately. I feel like my whole life has been put on hold with this new job. I don’t read and I definitely don’t post. Too much energy. Anyone else feel like midlife is a sham? 🤣

Anyway, I thought Glorious Rivals was fine. I don’t care about these characters as much as I care about the original cast and well also Gigi. I like Gigi. It was hard to get through because I maybe didn’t feel like learning about new people. Solid 3 stars. It was a good gateway book to I think the last.

I am starting the Gilded Blade today. We shall see how this turns out.

Once again I don’t know how I missed two releases on one of my favorite series but I did and I am trying to quickly makeup for it.
