#artclassproject I’ve never drawn shoes before, they are quite tricky. The assignment required we leave all measuring lines in just to show the process, which I guess gives it a a certain charm. I’ve discovered I don’t love working in #charcoal but it’s been interesting to learn with it. My favorite part of this #drawing is that it’s a #familyportrait told by our shoes by @swimminginsneakers
This #autumnnaildesign was inspired by a nature girlie currently in her #villianera..She is having a moment rn!They call her #invasive but you can’t deny she looks fabulous ✨ #lanternfly #buggirl by @swimminginsneakers
More of my #beginningartstudent art, because I want to catalogue the experience & I just won’t write in any of my damn journals. I am buyer of journals, & appreciator of journals, not a user of them. Anyway, back to art. The assignment was to draw a part of a room, in great detail, in one continuous line & without looking at what you’re drawing. At first glance, it looks like inscrutable chaos. My kids laughed at it, like: “Nice try, sweetie.” But then they began to recognize games & other familiar shapes from their shelf (sl2) It became something very personal & sweet, a kind of archaeology, each layer carbon dating our family history. I love my messy scribble scrabble. That’s a good title for it…#scribblescrabble #continuouslinedrawing #aicouldnever #makeart by @swimminginsneakers

It was a little Romeo & Juliet reunion for me, at the #burningofbenedictarnold in #newlondon..what a quirky and very Ct celebration, bringing back a tradition that went on for about 100 yrs back in the post-revolution times. Apparently this #traitor burned New London, and the colonial residents never got over it. We Connecticutians know how to hold a grudge! @flocktheatre by @swimminginsneakers
