$The Pursuit of Sonic Perfection | The Smyrna Masterclass. Where others see a cymbal, we perceive a complex architecture of frequencies waiting to be harmonized. Witness the final, most critical stages of a B21+ masterpiece. Through precision lathing and strategic compression, our master smith shapes not just the metal, but the very soul of the sound. You will notice that the path to perfection is rarely a straight line, if the initial test falls even a fraction short of the Smyrna Standard, we begin again. Why the obsession with the second round? Because in our atelier, "good enough" is a compromise we refuse to make. Until the harmonic balance is absolute, the wash is perfectly disciplined, and the stick definition delivers that signature woody 'ping'—the work is not finished. It is the definitive union of ancestral soul and modern acoustic engineering. The result? An instrument that doesn't merely resonate, but sings in perfect alignment with your drumset. Experience the metamorphosis: From raw B21+ bronze to a harmonically balanced masterpiece. - - - - #symrnalovers #smyrnacymbals #masterartisans #b21bronze #acousticengineering #drumconnoisseur #handcraftedexcellence #harmonicbalance #dounddesign #premiumdrumgear by @symrnacymbals$

A completely fresh vibe is joining the Smyrna Cymbals family: Marcus Rattler! 🥁 As a classically trained percussionist and drumset player, Marcus pushes the boundaries of live performance by simultaneously playing the drum kit and an electronically modified Steel Pan. He’s a true rhythm explorer, bringing incredible energy to the stage with his fusion band, Legerdemain, across the country and abroad. Beyond performing, Marcus is a dedicated educator, providing masterclasses and clinics for musicians of all levels. He is currently working hard to build a percussion studio and Steel Pan orchestra school in his hometown of Kansas City to create access to these instruments and their culture for the Midwest. We can’t wait to hear how your unique touch and deep grooves blend with the Smyrna bronze. Welcome to the family, Marcus! 🤘🔥

Go-go!!
30 years ago at a corporate gig in Vegas, I was in soundcheck and the front of house (Sound engineer) asked me to play the whole kit. I played a beat from the George Duke/Stanley Clarke album called “Mothership Connection”. My tech came RUNNING to the stage!!! He said, “You’re BRITISH MAN, what you know bout Go-go?!?!”
I said what’s Gogo? 🤷🏾‍♂️ I’d never even heard the term before, I just loved listening to Dennis Chambers and he’s who I heard play it on the album!!! Anyway I’m deep diving and I WILL play with a DC band before I kick the bucket..😂🤣🤣🤣
The three cats underneath this text are monsters in this genre!!
How I do fellas? 🤷🏾‍♂️😂🤣👊🏾
