POSTS STORIES REELS

In the temple of love, Aphrodite reigns supreme 💕💫 Brb Chris sent me this at 2am yesterday and I balled my eyes out. This cosplay means SO much to me. It was the very first craftmanship build of mine, that I started when I was 16. And finished/debuted at 17/18. I started this cosplay back when I really didn’t know anything about sewing… couldn’t even thread a machine without my sister’s help. This year I had the privilege to remake the bodice and I took a step back.. and admired.. how far I’ve come as a cosplayer and seamstress. I’m so beyond blessed to have such talented friends @hailthenaninator and @_eidetic_ - thank you for giving me the opportunity to shoot this at a dream location. 🥹🩷 @_eidetic_ you blew me away with this one my goodness… I don’t think I’ll ever recover haha. Brb crying.. a lot.. it’s been a journey.

A childhood dream brought to life ❄️
Barbie and the Nutcracker… handmade, magical, and straight out of a winter fairytale ✨🧚🏻‍♀️ (swipe for studio bts)

Nan had a vision, and I trusted her completely. I’ve been dreaming of a photoshoot like this for years, and the moment I approached her about my next project, she immediately knew exactly what she wanted to create. Together, we’re transporting you to the Land of Sweets and into the world of one of the most iconic ballets of all time, The Nutcracker.

Many people don’t know this, but I danced with a company for 12 years. Nutcracker season was always my favorite time of year, and it still holds such a special place in my heart. This Barbie movie was my absolute favorite growing up, so finally cosplaying Barbie feels incredibly full circle. I’ve wanted to do this for so long 🥹🎀

A huge thank you to @icefabrics__ for collaborating with me on this project. A video is coming tomorrow with a behind the scenes look at the process and a detailed showcase of the stunning fabrics sent to me. Truly the most beautiful crystal organza I’ve ever worked with. Which was absolutely perfect for a ballet inspired costume ✨

✨ The Perfect Rolled Hem 🧚🏻‍♀️ 🪡 ✨
If you’ve ever struggled with delicate fabrics like crystal organza, chiffon, and silk here’s your cheat sheet for a clean, tight rolled hem (using brother 1034dx serger) :

🧵 remove stitch finger
🧵 remove left needle (use right needle only)
🧵 right needle + upper looper = same tension (I used 4)
🧵 lower looper tension higher (mine is 7)
🧵 stitch length + width set to R
🧵 differential feed 0.7–1.0
🧵 decide if you’re using the knife — I’m using it for this fabric

A little setup goes a long way for that crisp looking hem. Keep in mind settings will vary between machine and fabric type! I’m using a @brothersews @brothercraftsusa 1034dx Serger!

Cosplay Sewing Tips 🪡: 5 sewing tools I can’t live without 🧵

1. Hot Hem Ruler 📐 : Perfect for measuring, folding, and pressing precise hems directly with your iron.
2. Seam Gauge 📏 : A small ruler with a sliding marker that makes measuring hems, seam allowances, and short distances quick and accurate.
3. Beeswax 🐝 : Strengthens thread fibers while helping prevent tangles, knots, and fraying
4. Pinking Shears ✂️ : Cuts fabric edges in a zigzag pattern to help reduce fraying.
5. Sewing Clips 📍 : Great for holding multiple layers of fabric together without leaving holes or damaging delicate materials.

✨ Honorable mention: Duckbill Scissor
Designed to trim fabric close to stitches without accidentally cutting the layer underneath.

What sewing tool can you not live without? 🧵

Cosplay Sewing Tips: The BEST way to cut faux fur fabric! ✂️

If you’ve ever worked with faux fur, you know how tricky it can be to get clean cuts without losing that beautiful… fluffy pile.. (tbh I go insane).

While scissors are great for most fabrics, they can chop through the fur fibers, creating uneven edges and causing excess shedding. This can compromise the overall look and integrity of your fur.

My favorite method? A razor blade!

Using a razor blade allows you to cut through just the backing of the fabric while preserving the fur fibers. This means cleaner edges, less shedding, and a much more seamless finish.

Additional bonus- Razor blades are inexpensive and easily replaceable. Faux fur can dull cutting tools surprisingly quickly, so having a fresh blade on hand makes all the difference.

Other great tools I’ve seen used for cutting faux fur include:
🧵 Mini shears
🧵 Seam rippers
🧵 Xacto knives

Ultimately, the best tool is the one that works for you and your project, but I personally find that a simple razor blade gets the job done beautifully!

⚠️ A quick safety reminder: Always use caution when working with razor blades or any sharp cutting tools. Keep your fingers clear of the cutting path and work on a protected surface.

Save this tip for your next cosplay project! 💕

Thank you @bigzfabric for providing this absolutly STUNNING fur fabric for my special project! Can’t wait to show yall soon. 🥰
