The first teaser animation for my upcoming two-player competitive mystical board game “Vesselseers” is up now. Feels good to finally share a small glimpse of it. Characters and concept were inspired by the works of Maria Balassa Music by @gosheven_music #boardgame #animation #pagan #witches #rituals by @sz0ll0
I’ve been quietly working on a board game called “Vesselseers” for a while now, and I’m finally ready to start sharing more of the process. Vesselseers takes place in a shifting forest shaped by rituals and opposing forces, with pagan women walking its paths. The game is still very much in development and needs a lot of testing, iteration, and rethinking. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be posting gradually: small glimpses of the world, the characters, bits of the mechanics, and some prototype photos along the way. #animation #boardgame #pagan #rituals #witches by @sz0ll0

I made small character figures for both teams in Vesselseers. Seeing them as little stand-up pieces on the table makes the world feel more alive and it changes the whole atmosphere of the game. #gameprototype #boardgame #rituals #boardgameprototype #figures by @sz0ll0
The weather was nice, so I took the prototype out to shoot some photos. The forest, the swamp, and the cave are places where the characters gather totem animals and ritual tools. They are also places where events unfold and unexpected feelings can arise. #boardgame #rituals #tabletopgames #gameprototype #prototype by @sz0ll0
Loved every minute of prototyping for iteration. Playtesting is the part I’ve been both excited and honestly, a little nervous about. “Vesselseers” is my first board game. Every session teaches me something new about pacing and finding the right balance between luck and strategy that shapes the player experience. It’s exciting to see it come alive, and at the same time humbling (to say the least) to face what still needs work. #prototype #boardgameprototype #boardgames #womeninboardgames #diy by @sz0ll0

In Vesselseers, every character has intrusive thoughts of her own, just like we all do. But these moments of doubt and instability can eventually become important turning points in their journey. Each character carries a fear that is uniquely hers, shaping how she grows and makes choices in the world. The focus is not on diagnoses or labels; instead, it’s about exploring each woman’s journey and how inner struggles can sometimes slowly transform into creativity. #boardgames #rituals #pagan #disabilityrights #intrusivethoughts by @sz0ll0
