The best day of my life… was the day I had knee surgery. 🦵😭I know that sounds crazy. But when you've been living with chronic knee pain — every step hurting, every activity limited, every morning starting with stiffness — the day someone finally fixes it changes everything. That's what people don't understand about knee surgery. It's not just a medical procedure. It's getting your life back.→ Walking without wincing → Playing with your kids again → Getting through a full day without thinking about your knee onceKnee surgery — whether it's an ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, partial or total knee replacement — has one of the highest patient satisfaction rates in all of medicine. And the reason is simple: the people who need it have usually been suffering far longer than they should have. The surgery is one day. The transformation lasts a lifetime. 🙌If chronic knee pain is limiting your life, don't wait. That "best day" could be closer than you think. 🏥✅ Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips! 🌴😷 Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach! Visit www.primeorthocenter.com
With an ACL rupture and meniscus tear, the goal is to restore stability and get the athlete back to peak performance 💪 This procedure combines ACL reconstruction with an extra-articular tenodesis to improve rotational stability, using a strong patellar tendon graft 🔧 Precision matters when every movement counts 🏆🔥 To book an appointment, call 04 835 9000, WhatsApp +971 52 105 2798, or visit orthoproclinic.com #orthopro #orthoproclinic #dubai #dubaiorthopedics #dubaihealthcare uae OrthoProDubai
Yesterday marked 6 weeks post ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair. 😮‍💨 I got the green light to start doing a bunch of new things again — and now I can actually get a real workout in! But only in the weightroom. No running at least for another 6 weeks. 😌 But look at this!!! Feel so good.☺️ #aclrecovery #aclreconstruction #meniscusrepair #runner
Post #ACL reconstruction unlocking range of motion is a nightmare, I have had hip pains all sorts of discomfort. But I am happy to announce I can finally sit in lotus pose without pain and almost in #vajrasana ☺️☺️ I might have also started doing a headstand without a problem. . It has taken 5 months of training and patience to get back to this . #aclr #aclrsurgery #aclrecovery
What do athletes actually train in the gym one week before getting ACL reconstruction? Mostly a lot of quad work and putting on as much muscle as possible, so that rehab after surgery will be two times easier 👊🏽 #acl #surgery #rehabilitación #athlete #strength
🦵 Early Knee Rehabilitation = Restoring Quadriceps Activation & Control 💪 After a knee injury or surgery, pain, swelling and joint-related inhibition (arthrogenic muscle inhibition) can significantly affect quadriceps activation, strength and knee control. That’s why early rehabilitation should focus not only on strengthening, but first on reconnecting with and activating the quadriceps effectively. ✅ 🔹 Towel Quad Set / Towel Squeeze Helps isolate quadriceps activation while encouraging the heel to lift. 🔹 Assisted Terminal Knee Extension Builds on basic quad activation and helps develop control into the terminal extension range. 🔹 Prone Knee Extension over a Roller Allows the patient to work against gravity and improve awareness and control of knee extension. These exercises are commonly used during early-stage knee rehabilitation, including after ACL reconstruction, to regain quadriceps control and terminal knee extension. However, progression should always depend on the type of injury/surgery, swelling, pain, ROM and individual recovery status. 👩‍⚕️ ✨ Remember: Before building strength, we need to restore activation and control. In ACL reconstruction, two commonly used options are metallic titanium screws and bioabsorbable (bio) screws. In this video, Dr. Sandeep Singh explains why he prefers using a bio screw—designed to integrate with the body over time and offer a more biologically compatible approach to ACL reconstruction. But the choice of implant depends on the patient, surgical technique, and clinical requirements. #explorepage #trendingnow #viralreels #aclsurgery #acl
This is what an ACL reconstruction actually looks like mid-surgery. Surgeons drill precise tunnels through the femur and tibia to place a new graft, replacing the torn ligament and restoring stability to the knee. Getting that tunnel placement exactly right is everything, a few millimeters off and the whole reconstruction can fail. Nothing hits quite like a perfectly placed graft and flawless tunnel alignment. Sorry, babe. 😂 Tag a surgeon (or surgeon's spouse) who needs to see this. 👇 Vid: Unknown ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips! 📍Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach! POV: You're watching me rebuild the most famous ligament in sports 🏈⚽🏀 This is an ACL reconstruction—and yeah, it's as intense as it looks. Here's what's actually happening: Your original ACL? Toast. We can't just "stitch it back together" like a cut. Once it's torn, it's done. So instead, we become architects: 1️⃣ We harvest a graft (usually from your hamstring or patellar tendon) 2️⃣ Drill tunnels through your femur and tibia 3️⃣ Thread the new ligament through like a really expensive shoelace 4️⃣ Screw it into place with titanium hardware 5️⃣ Your body does the rest over 9-12 months The wildest part? That new ligament will eventually become YOUR ligament. Your body remodels it, grows blood vessels into it, makes it part of you. But here's the kicker—even with perfect surgery, you're looking at: → 6 months before you can run → 9-12 months before you can play your sport → 2 years before it's fully "normal" And people still ask me "Doc, can I play next week?" 😅 💬 QUESTION: Have you torn your ACL or know someone who has? 👇 Athletes—how long did YOUR recovery actually take? (Be honest) 🤔 What surprised you most about this process? ⚽ Tag an athlete recovering from ACL surgery right now ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips! 🌴😷Schedule a consultation to see Dr. Abbasi as a patient in Delray Beach!
