I was privileged to have THE most amazing experience at the house of @amaffi - luxury fragrance like no other. Ultra, ultra exclusive and the embodiment of class, elegance and culture…..but the story of AMAFFI began many years ago…... The history of this incredible perfumer dates back to the time of Napoléon Bonaparte when Madame Amaffi created an intoxicating fragrance that Napoleon made his own. Napoléon was passing through the centre of a small town in the South of France. The bright air was sweet with aromatic notes of orange blossom, rosemary and lavender that drifted from a perfumer’s shop across a small square. The leader of France, renowned for his passion for perfume, requested some fragrances to sample. He was so dazzled by the precious scents that he commanded the perfumer to join him at court to create a bespoke fragrance that would become part of his immortal identity. Fast forward to 2024 and this is luxury like no other. Only the most exotic and precious natural ingredients are used in AMAFFI perfumes, agarwood, absolutes of champaca, iris, narcissus and rose centifolia from Grasse. Rare essences from around the world are chosen depending on the gathering season, terroir, climate and phases of the moon. It was such a pleasure to attend the grand opening of 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶, one of the world’s great perfum houses last night, at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands and to see the guest of honour, 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲! And what a thrill when she came right up to me and let me smell her wrist, after she'd sprayed her favourite perfume, Amaffi’s “𝗢𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻”, which retails for US$7,000 for 75 ml (4 fl ozs)! And I have to say, the scent is as sensational as Sharon! Even though I only got a tiny amount on me, the fragrance carried through the rest of the night and was especialy noticeable when I got into my car. A few months ago, I heard about @amaffi for the first time. Never have I seen a brand with much glitz and glamour until I finally walked into the showroom in NYC for the first time. The perfume presentation and the entire showroom is like walking into the finest jewelry stores in the world. Price points of these perfumes are the most I’ve ever seen ever. I got a chance to smell almost everything in this place. I was really impressed by a handful of these. Did I come home with any of these perfumes? I wish! However I did come home with cards that were sprayed with the perfumes. I’ll reveal my favorites in a future live. Yes this place is insane. The packaging and flacons are remarkable. The perfumes are quite special. Is it worth it?
