#AMPEX

This is how I cut my own custom records at Linear Labs. My Lathe was refurbished by Mike Dixon and has new stereo heads created by @kostyantokarev. The sound of my custom records are massive!!!! Also, they go through a rigorous process, just like my analog tape recordings.
At the moment, I’m only cutting for myself and a few hand selected Djs from around the world…very limited. Also, I’m cutting a lot of unreleased records from my upcoming releases so if you see me dj, you can hear these live and direct!!
This song is “Sirens” from my Something About April album that was later sampled for Jay-Z’s “Picasso Baby.” Currently, I’m the only person with this 45 and it feels pretty amazing.

The last of the knob the turning. I don’t understand this part of the process…the mastering of the record… but I’m about to go home and turn it up to 100000000000 and see if I can figure it out! #mixing #mastering #recording #recordingprocess #makingarecord #makingmusic #inthestudio #studio #studioday #analog #totape #ontape #tape #ampex #originalmusic #independentartist #songwriter#singersongwriter #nashville

Coffee loops & Fresh tape! ☕️📼
Lets put a beat sequence on loop and prepare the reel to reel for a fresh new tape.
First i clean all the parts where the tape is touching. Im using 70% alcohol and a cotton swab.
Next is demagnetizing the tapeheads with a demagnetizer and we are ready to wind up a new tape and hit record! 🔥
For the piano chops i used a composition from the brother @max_vlrecords 🙌🏼 (dark jazz vol. 1)
🥁 drums are a blend of my own drumpacks. They are available in the bio 💪🏽
