I was pumped when we found a special bag of Christmas gifts 🎁 for me today that got lost in all the Christmas Day mayhem! One of my long time favorite aloha shirt spots from my hometown of Honolulu. But unfortunately my Gyatt (as they say in the streets) is too big and ain’t fittin’ in these shorts 🩳😂 #postchristmaslove #avanti

Would you try this?!! 🚆💅 This one is a bit NICHE but you really feel like you’re hacking the system when you pull it off 😆 💾 Save this post for the future - or share with someone who always wishes they could afford first class travel all the time! (James) SO - for the train savvy out there you may have heard of Train Splitting before. 
This is when you buy two or more train tickets that make up your full journey, that end up being cheaper than if you just bought 1 ticket from start to finish 💸 
Fortunately, lots of websites do this for you now - including Trainline, TrainPal and Virgin Trains Ticketing - and so it’s pretty easy to do 👏 ⚠️ HOWEVER - what they don’t currently do is highlight when you could split your ticket between STANDARD and FIRST CLASS! And that’s what this hack is all about!! Sadly, it does mean you need to search manually for the prices but here’s what I like to do: 1️⃣ Find out how much it would cost to book First Class in full - I recommend booking well in advance if you’re interested in this as sometimes you can get a good deal for the whole journey! 2️⃣ Find out all the possible stops on your journey - for ours there were actually 2 train options, a fast and a slow train, and so I checked all of them 3️⃣ Search for singles between your departure point and your final destination, noting the standard price and the first class price. I ended up using LNER to do this as they clearly show the first class cost at the same time as the standard one 👍 And then it’s simply a case of seeing if you can spot a ‘cheap’ first class leg!! It definitely works better the more in advance you book and sometimes you may find first class even cheaper than standard - IT’S RARE BUT IT DOES HAPPEN I SWEAR!! 😆 📣 LET ME KNOW… Are you a saddo like me and love trying to hack the system?
