🚲💨 Capturing some MTB motion at #sonykandotripanz > edited with Lightroom Presets, in bio ✍️ Here was one of the shoots Sony setup at this year’s Kando Trip in Hobart, Tasmania. Taking photos of your dog running is tough. Most of the time, they turn out blurry, and it’s frustrating. As pet photographers and pet owners ourselves we take action shots of dogs all the time. 🐕 The problem isn’t just with the camera settings but also with the direction of movement. You keep trying to work out the perfect camera setting and yes we have just what you need. But before you make any changes to your camera you have to do this. ❌ What Not to Do: Taking photos of them running directly towards you. The distance is constantly changing, making it hard for your camera to lock focus. This leads to more blurry shots. 👉 Tip: Capture Them Running Across the Frame, Not Towards You When your dog runs across the screen (from left to right or vice versa), the distance between them and your camera stays the same. This makes it easier for your camera to track them and keep them in focus. 📸 Recommended Camera Settings Shutter Speed: 1/1000s or faster to freeze the action. Focus Mode: Continuous Autofocus (AF-C or AI Servo) to keep tracking the movement. Drive Mode: Burst mode to capture multiple frames and get that perfect moment. Aperture: Don’t be afraid to use a smaller aperture. Yes the background will not be as blurred but neither will your pet. I’m obsessed with how perfect that swirl came out… capturing food with ambient light using flash light used to be one of trickiest thing when I started shooting with artificial light in 2021.
