In a heart-stopping video from summer 2022, a Wizzair Airbus A321neo executes an incredibly low landing, skimming just 1,5 meters (5 feet) above awe-struck tourists gathered at Skiathos Airport. The island airport, often referred to as the “St. Maarten of Europe,” is renowned for its exceptionally short runway and proximity to the sea. This unique geography necessitates that aircraft approach at a lower altitude than usual, offering onlookers a once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, the clip posted by Great Flyer is unusual, even by Skiathos standards, as the airliner passes much closer to the onlookers than anticipated. . . #plane #aviation #airplanes #aircraft #flyhigh #skybound #wings #jetlife #avgeek #pilotlife #airtravel #planespotting #airforce #commercialaviation #privatejets #runway #aerospace #aviationdaily #cockpitview #airshow #aviationphotography #flyingsolo #airbus #boeing #skyline #airportlife #flightdeck #aircraftmaintenance #flyers #airtraffic

At first glance, a cockpit looks the same. But Boeing and Airbus follow completely different control philosophies. Boeing uses a yoke — the traditional control column. pilots physically move it both pilots’ controls are mechanically linked you can feel what the other pilot is doing It’s direct, physical, and based on pilot input. Airbus does the opposite. It uses a side-stick joystick. no mechanical linkage between pilots inputs are sent electronically computers interpret and adjust every command This is called fly-by-wire. The pilot doesn’t directly control the aircraft — they tell the computer what they want, and the system executes it within safety limits. That leads to a major difference: Boeing → pilot has final authority Airbus → computer has final authority Airbus systems can: prevent stalls limit extreme maneuvers override dangerous inputs Boeing allows more direct control — even if it means the pilot can push the aircraft beyond safe limits. Two different philosophies: Trust the human… or trust the system. Both work. Both are used worldwide. But they create completely different flying experiences. So the real question is: Would you rather trust a pilot… or a computer? ❤️ Double-tap if this surprised you 🔖 Save this — most people don’t know this difference 📤 Share with someone who flies often 👉 Follow @inteldrip for real engineering breakdowns #engineering #aviation #technology #aircraft #aerospace @ Horizon-22

From dead still to full thrust it’s all choreography. A jet engine doesn’t just “start.” An external starter spins the compressor first, pulling air through the system. Fuel is injected, ignition kicks in, and expanding gases accelerate the turbine. Once the turbine reaches the right speed, it drives the compressor on its own and the engine becomes self-sustaining. Every step is timed, monitored, and controlled. Too early, it stalls. Too late, it fails. From spark to sustained thrust, it’s precision under pressure. #JetEngine #Aerospace #Engineering #Thrust #AviationTech Turbine FlightSystems AvGeek
⚠️Info: Artemis II launched on April 1, 2026, carrying four astronauts aboard NASA’s Orion spacecraft on a mission to fly around the Moon. The launch itself went smoothly, with the Space Launch System performing as expected and successfully placing Orion into orbit. Early mission phases, including key trajectory and system checks, were completed without major issues, confirming that critical systems are working reliably. Some minor problems did occur. Shortly after launch, there was a brief communication dropout between Orion and mission control, and a small malfunction in the spacecraft’s toilet system, which the crew managed to fix. Overall, the mission is progressing as planned, with no serious technical failures so far. Comment 🙌 if you read the caption!
