MEET: The Face of The Month of September 2025 MEET: Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen Filmmaker | Producer | Screenwriter | Director | Cultural Ambassador Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen is a renowned Nigerian film director, producer, and screenwriter, widely celebrated as one of Nollywood’s most prolific filmmakers. Popularly known as the “Governor of Nollywood,” he has made an indelible mark on African cinema through his passion for storytelling, cultural preservation, and social impact. Born on 20th June, 1971, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, Lancelot developed a keen interest in the arts from a young age. His early exposure to Edo culture, history, and traditions deeply influenced his creative vision, a theme that resonates strongly across his works. On the 6th and final day, we celebrated the power of storytelling with insightful panels on Fashion in African Cinema, Cross-Continental Collaborations, and the rich tapestry of Africa’s storytelling traditions. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the screening of the Film of the Year, Out of Breath—a powerful portrayal of Igbo culture through romance and action. A day filled with inspiring conversations, incredible films, and unforgettable memories.
