These videos are REPOSTS from my Tiktok Account. Some of them may be repeats and I apologize. What legacy do you want to leave behind? Are your actions safeguarding the future of our generations, or are they creating more challenges for them? In everything I do, I think of my children, grandchildren, and the youth—our hope for the future. As Yup’ik people, our strength lies in unity, in upholding the values and ways of life that have been passed down to us for generations. We must honor our ancestors by protecting what they preserved for us and ensuring that our traditions, culture, and land remain strong for those who come after us. Together, we can secure a brighter future for our people. #sewyupik #yupik #fyp #indigenous #indigenouspeople #sharingalaska #alaska #alaskan #alaskalife #alaskaliving #alaskanative #sharingiscaring #futuregenerations #nativetiktok
This is your Auntie reminder to go and vote! I know sometimes it feels like, “What difference is my one vote gonna make?” But trust me it matters. Especially in our small Alaska communities. We’ve always been stronger when we look out for each other. When we show up, speak up, and make sure our voices are heard. Our grandparents and ancestors didn’t always have the same opportunities to have their voices heard. So don’t take yours for granted. Take a few minutes, learn who you’re voting for, and go out and vote! Because when our villages come together, we’re stronger together. 🫶🏽 Now go vote, and quit making me have to remind you. 😂 . . . . . #getoutthevote#gotnv#alaska#alaskanative#nativehumor
Getting Alaska Native communities the recognition they deserve has always been a top priority for me as a legislator. That’s why I so seriously pushed for the Unrecognized Southeast Alaska Native Communities Recognition and Compensation Act. The act, which gives Alaska Native communities in Haines, Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, & Tenakee the right to form urban corporations and receive land entitlements under the ANCSA, is a major effort to improve the lives of many and right past wrongs. Besides giving them the right to form an Alaska Native Urban Corporation, it also fights for them to receive 23,040 acres, or one township, of federal land. This is how we make sure our Alaska Native communities are better off and given the opportunities they deserve. Alaska Native communities deserve support and a seat at the table - and critically the ability to determine their own destiny with all the tools they can get. This is how we make that happen. #alaska #marypeltola #maryforcongress #maryforalaska #alaskanative
We love to see our Traditional Games athletes showing off their skills! During Celebration, the athletes demonstrate games like the Alaskan High Kick and Inuit Stick Pull. Of course a crowd favorite is the blanket toss. Traditional Games Specialist Matthew Quinto kicks it off with a backflip 💥 #Tlingit #Haida #AlaskaNative #Indigenous #Celebration2026
"I’m tired of having our representation be through a non-native lens. I want more people to hear our stories and see our faces." -Bethany Yellowtail Crow and North Cheyenne fashion designer Bethany Yellowtail's design talent and success serves to increase Indigenous representation. She pours her traditions and heartbreak into her company, B.Yellowtail. Along the way, she faces cultural appropriation (including having designs plagiarized for a major fashion show) and finds her own voice as both designer and political activist. For Yellowtail, dressing is resistance. (From @IndependentLens) #PBS #NativeAmerican #Indigenous #AlaskaNative #Crow #NorthCheyenne

Quick reminder, always hang your beaded earrings. Do not leave them in a pile. They will not hang straight for you. If you do find yourself in a situation where you have a kinked fringe however, just hang them back up. If you’re in a hurry to get them straight, lay them on a flat surface and pet downwards while rolling the beads or hold them with one hand while rolling the beads between your fingers with the other hand while also gently letting your fingers slip down the earring. #beadedearrings #fringeearrings #alaskanative

“Democrats are trying to cancel Native voices.” — @sen_dansullivan Here’s the truth: 88 Alaska Native governments oppose the proposed Ambler Road — most of which have passed tribal resolutions stating so. Many from communities that would be most impacted have traveled to Washington, D.C., to tell Sullivan directly about the devastation this industrial road would cause. But Sullivan sides with corporate mining interests over the people he claims to represent. Sullivan does not speak for Alaska Native people. In fact, he’s actively misrepresenting us. No to Ambler Road! #NoAmblerRoad #NoAmbler #Roadless #RoadToNowhere #DanSullivan #NDAA #TribalSovereignty #IndigenousResistance #IndigenousRights #Alaska #ClimateChange #Arctic #AlaskaNative #Sovereignty #DefendTheBrooksRange #DefendTheSacred #AFN #AlwaysIndigenousMedia #AIM #YRITWC
