🇮🇹 5 Things You Need To Know About Pisa, Italy👇 Pisa's rich history, extending beyond the iconic Leaning Tower, encompasses a myriad of activities including historical masterpieces, museums, churches, and palaces, all set within the charming backdrop of Medieval architecture in the Tuscany region, perfect for extended stays and day trips. Here are 5 things you should know before visiting: 1️⃣ Getting to Pisa is fairly easy. Whether it be planes, trains, or automobiles, Pisa is accessible from multiple locations around the country. Do keep in mind that parking within the city limits is limited, so we recommend train travel to Pisa as the Centrale station is within walking distance of the city center. 2️⃣ Did you know the Leaning Tower didn't just lean over time, rather it started leaning soon after construction started...? Yikes! Note that this structure was built on soft soil causing it to lean and efforts to combat this have ranged from adding weights to the opposite side of the Tower and digging channels around the base to help with soil drainage. This is the main site tourists visit, so it'll likely be busy, but there are plenty of other attractions in this historic city. 3️⃣ Consider venturing to the Pisa Cathedral (one of the most stunning in all of Tuscany), Pisa Baptistery (the largest in Italy), and Camposanto Monumentale if you want to explore the city further. 4️⃣ Common food specialties found in restaurants here include Cacciucco (stew made with seafood), Pappardelle alla lepre (wide noodle pasta covered in a slow-cooked rich sauce made from hare meat), Trippa alla Pisana (tripe dish cooked with tomatoes, onions, and herbs), Lampredotto (street food made from the fourth stomach of a cow, slow-cooked with onions, tomato sauce, and herbs), and Cecina (traditional flatbread made from chickpea flour, water, olive oil, and salt). 5️⃣ Pisa's climate features rainy winters and hot, sunny summers. The coldest month is usually January and August tends to be the warmest sometimes hovering close to 100°F 🔖 SAVE this post for future reference. #pisa #italytravel #leaningtowerofpisa #pisatower #contexttravel #walkingtours #traveltips #travelinspo
✨ Perspective can trick your brain into seeing size differently! 🤔 🔍 Forced perspective uses depth, distance, and surroundings to create stunning optical illusions. From “holding” the Eiffel Tower to “leaning” on the Tower of Pisa, it’s all about clever angles and placement! 🎥 Did you know filmmakers use this trick to make models look massive or actors seem giant—no CGI needed? Remember, seeing isn’t always believing. Your brain is easily fooled when depth and context are missing! 🧠✨ #explorepage #brilliantbytes_ #facts #mindblown #sciencefacts #creative #optical #illusion #physics #science #explore #knowledge #instagood #viralreels #viral #video #reels #instagram
Raining while travelling? ☔️ While I prefer to have sunny days for travelling just about anywhere, rain adds contrast to the cobblestones of Europe and it’s really a vibe. We took a day trip to San Gimignano, Siena and Pisa while staying in Florence, and it rained pretty much all day. There were less tourists at Pisa because of the rain, and even less pickpocketers! You can’t control the weather while you’re travelling, so if it rains you can always find indoor activities to do like museums or cooking classes, or just grab an umbrella and admire the rainy mood. We booked a company for our day trip. It was a group tour. They picked us up in Florence on a bus, drove us to the 3 spots, provided short guided tours of some places. It would be idea to have a car and spend more time in Tuscany, but for those who are short on time like us, it was a quick and convenient way to see these places. By the way, the lines of people holding umbrellas is for 📍Gelateria Dondoli Piazza della Cisterna, 4 53037 San Gimignano 🍦Famous gelateria - even won the world cup! They use dairy from Organic Agriculture Farm Camporbiano where cows are fed with hay and treated without antibiotics. Environmentally friendly gelato anyone? Tips for visiting the leaning tower of Pisa: Tip #1: You need about an hour. There isn’t more to see and do there. Tip#2: Get pictures from the back, where it looks like a banana. Tip#3: The leaning tower is a bell tower. 🛎️ All churches have bell towers. Get a free ticket on site to visit the church. Tip #4: An ADVANCE reservation is necessary for climbing the leaning bell tower. Currently the cost is 20 euros. Tip#5: Want the best picture?
