Surprisingly, our "Hair In My Eyes" record won Album of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards back in 2006. Not Alt Country Album or Outlaw Country Album or Weirdo Freak Show Deviant Country Album, but BEST ALBUM, period. Still can't believe it. Cheers to the CCMA for taking a chance on us. We won a Juno that year too, I think. (For my American friends, that's sorta like a Canuck Grammy....). So yeah, we've had our moments. We're gonna play the whole album start to finish for ya. Sure glad to still be doing this and still making relevant music and for all of you still out there listening. Love ya. At a sold-out @CityWineryNYC local rock legend & music writer @Lenny_Kaye 🎤 🎸 made a hometown stop as tour opener for alt country greats @DaveAlvinOriginal & @JimmieDaleGilmore duo tour of the Northeastern U.S. (Kaye joined them for a handful of songs) to play some excellent new songs from his upcoming @YepRoc debut solo LP Going Local and some choice covers, including The Box Tops' "The Letter" segueing into The Velvet Underground's "Run, Run, Run" in a nod to his role in championing the garage rock revival in the '70s with his curation of the Nuggets anthology. He also read an excerpt from his 2023 rock chronicles book Lightning Striking about recording @ThisIsPattiSmith Group's debut LP Horses at Electric Ladyland Studios 50 years ago, before playing a moving version of "Ghost Dance", which he co-wrote with Smith for 3rd LP Easter.
