No lyrics and somehow it says everything. The xx returning after 8 years at Pepsi Center WTC with Intro felt like time paused and then remembered you again. Nothing changed. That’s what made it hit. (save this some feelings don’t need words) The xx formed in London in 2005 and built a global following through minimalism, quiet vocals, and emotional restraint. What makes them unique is their use of silence and space, their music doesn’t overwhelm you, it pulls you in slowly. Fun fact: Intro became one of the most used instrumental tracks across films, fashion, and viral content despite having no lyrics. Intro has no lyrics, but that’s exactly why it works. It’s pure atmosphere, tension, release, memory. People project their own story onto it, which is why it thrives on Reels. Live, after 8 years, it hits differently. It’s not just a sound anymore, it’s nostalgia, distance, and return all at once. #thexx #thexxintro #cdmx2026 #pepsicentercdmx #liveset

The band’s sound was never purely new wave. It pulled from surf rock, punk minimalism, and early dance rhythms, combining them into something that felt both primitive and forward-thinking. “Give Me Back My Man” is one of the clearest examples of that balance. The song does not rely on complexity, it relies on repetition, tension, and physical energy. The performance style reinforced that intensity. On stage, the band operated almost like a rhythmic machine, with percussion, keyboards, and vocals locking into a hypnotic cycle that pushed the track beyond a standard rock format and closer to something more ritualistic. Ricky Wilson’s influence extends far beyond this single record. His guitar work shaped the band’s early sound and left a lasting mark on alternative and new wave music. His death in 1985 from AIDS-related complications cut that trajectory short, but the aesthetic he helped create continues to echo through generations of artists. More than four decades later, “Give Me Back My Man” still feels immediate. It stands as a reminder that The B-52’s were never just a novelty act, but a group capable of translating raw emotion into a minimal, highly controlled sonic form. j’ai vraiment essayer de chercher des sonorités pour définir mon style musical, parfois c’est long mais tellement kiffant quand on touche une identité artistique pour exprimer ce qu’il y a dans nos têtes 🦋 #femaleproducer #music #etherealmusic #electromusic #alternativemusic #synth #producertok #behringer

Without fail, @primusville scratches a part of my neurospicy brain that is oh so satisfying. If I had to guess what musically makes me feel this way, I think it’s: Primus is whacky harmonically, but they love repetition or ‘meditation on a theme’ when writing music. This allows the listener to get in a solid vibe. A GROOVE. The music becomes cozy in a way. But THEN this guitar groove in ‘John the Fisherman’ is syncopated, or on the ‘off beat’. This makes the guitar licks feel aggressive or almost surprising even though you know they’re coming (thanks to the aforementioned repetition). This dichotomy of musical comfort and unease appeals so much to my ADHD. Primus is a band that always makes me make ‘stank faces’ while listening (see: my face in this video) because they are one of the most animated bands out there. Les Claypool is a whole dang character, the Colonel, Mud, he’s so theatrical and you can’t help but physically interpret the sound. Thanks for coming to my Primus TEDtalk. #primus #experimentalrock #alternativemusic #altrock #musictheory101
