Ne batem cu pumnul în piept că trăim în lumea modernă, cu tot acces la informație și unelte, dar sincer, nu văd nimic azi la fel de impresionant ca ceea ce au ridicat oamenii astia în granit. E ceva incredibil în răbdarea de a sculpta zeci de ani în blocuri imense, doar ca să lași în urmă ceva care stă în picioare și acum. Fie că te uiți la simetria perfectă de la Taj Mahal, unde totul se oglindește până la detaliu, sau la palatele din Jaipur, care funcționează ca niște labirinturi de curți , simți că nimic nu e pus la întâmplare. Chiar și fortărețele ca Amber Fort nu-s doar simple ziduri, sunt sisteme întregi de viață, cu porți și pasaje unde fiecare loc are un scop. Iar la Galta Ji, e de-a dreptul uimitor cum au sculptat direct în relief, până când construcția s-a topit cu totul în natură. Ce au toate în comun nu e neapărat stilul, ci faptul că fiecare a fost gândită ca un sistem complet. Au fost proiecte crescute și ajustate în timp, timp de generații, până au devenit aceste minunatii care ne lasă mască și azi.
