🌊🦖 Creature unit, flooded tank. The Tyrannosaurus is a full-scale animatronic standing chest-deep in a studio water tank on a steel support mast, with hydraulic hoses running back over the tank wall. Both hind feet stay anchored to the tank floor throughout the move, so the forward commitment comes from the hips and neck—not a step. The tail stays level the entire time. ⚙️ The camera sits at water level, one stunt performer holds a marked position, and two crew in wetsuits stay in the tank for the whole take. 🎥💦 And there’s no creature vocalisation in the mix. On a creature unit, the roar comes later in post. 🔊 #animatronic #watertank #practicaleffects #stuntwork #filmset

No CGI — just a massive animatronic puppet and real practical rigs. 🎬 Our team built a fully detailed miniature desert trading outpost, flew a suspended helicopter prop on live wire-rig through a simulated attack sequence, then let a gigantic animatronic sandworm erupt from beneath the dunes and engulf the aircraft whole — all captured raw and unedited straight off the soundstage. This is old-school practical filmmaking, done right. #PracticalEffects #MiniatureModel #BehindTheScenes #VFX #FilmProduction

Something Hidden Underneath 👁️ | Animatronic Eye Mechanism It looks like a real eye… but there’s a clever mechanism hidden underneath. 👁️⚙️ Video reference from: avangardeev (Instagram) This is a compact Animatronic Eye Mechanism that controls the movement of a mechanical eye using a surprisingly simple linkage system. The build uses two SG90 9g micro servos, shaped copper wire linkages, an ESP32-S3 SuperMini, TP4057 Mini charging module, tactile push button, and a small battery. The servo motion is transferred through the wire linkages to create the eye movement, turning a few simple components into a unique animatronic mechanism. Its compact design makes it interesting for wearable props, mechanical art, animatronics, sculptures, cosplay projects, and hidden mechanical displays. It could even be concealed behind a small opening in clothing or integrated into a decorative statue. #mechanical #3ddesign #mechatronics #engineering #mechanism #Animatronic #technology

The final scene vs. how we actually filmed it. 🎬 The largest animatronic sea creature ever built. A full-scale ship deck on hydraulics. An entire ocean inside a studio. Months of work for one shot — watch until the end to see how the magic happens. Made with @higgsfield.ai #BehindTheScenes #PracticalEffects #MovieMagic #Filmmaking #higgsfieldcreator

An early Green Goblin design for 2002’s Spider-Man featured a flexible animatronic mask capable of moving its eyes, mouth and facial features. The unsettling, comic-inspired prototype was created before the production ultimately chose the rigid metallic helmet seen in the finished film. It was also removed due to practical concerns, such as comfort, breathing, actor performance, and the difficulty of using such a complex mask during action scenes. #SpiderMan #GreenGoblin #Marvel #Movies #BehindTheScenes
