There is only one known video of Anne Frank, and it lasts just a few seconds. The footage was filmed in Amsterdam in July 1941, about a year before Anne and her family went into hiding from the Germans. In the clip, 12-year-old Anne can be seen leaning out of a second-floor window, excitedly watching a neighbor’s wedding taking place below. At the time, no one could have imagined that those few seconds would become the only moving images of her ever captured. Today, the brief film stands as a haunting glimpse of Anne before history changed her life forever, showing not the famous diarist remembered around the world, but simply a curious young girl looking out her window. 🎥🕊️ Let us know your thoughts below! • #explore #learn #interesting #educational
@simon_amste understood the assignment, when we say let’s go out, we mean out in Amsterdam 🌷🌙 Tag someone you’d get lost with between canals and cobblestones 🩵🚲 📌 What to know before you go: • Rent a bike—it’s the best way to explore hidden corners beyond the tourist spots • Visit in April for tulip season or December for the Amsterdam Light Festival • Many museums require advance booking, especially the Anne Frank House • Canal cruises at sunset are a must for the full Amsterdam glow 📍Amsterdam, Netherlands

📖 Anne Frank 🇳🇱 Netherlands 🕊️ "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." Anne Frank is more than a historical figure—she is a symbol of hope, resilience, and the enduring power of the human spirit. ✨ Through her diary, written while hiding during one of history's darkest periods, Anne shared her dreams, fears, and thoughts with a honesty that continues to inspire millions around the world. 📔💙 Despite living in uncertainty, she never lost her curiosity, compassion, or belief in a better future. Her words remind us that courage is not the absence of fear but the determination to hold onto hope even when circumstances seem impossible. 🌍🕯️ Anne's story stands as a powerful testament to the importance of empathy, tolerance, and the value of every human life. Generations later, her voice continues to educate, inspire, and encourage people to stand against hatred and injustice. 📚✨ A young girl whose words transcended time, proving that even the smallest voice can leave an everlasting impact on the world. 🕊️❤️ 📩 DM for credit or removal.
Today would have been Anne Frank’s 95th birthday, and in her noble words, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” May her legacy continue to shine light on the world for generations to come. 🕯️
I recently visited the Anne Frank exhibit at @GriffinMSI. Museum exhibits like these reminds us how essential it is to stand against #antisemitism and hate today.    The Nazis did not start their persecution of Jewish people with gas chambers—they started by turning people against each other and stoking the flames of fear and hatred. We must remember this.
Now in its 43rd year, Neuberger Holocaust Education Week (HEW) remains a cornerstone of Holocaust education and remembrance, bringing together voices that inspire reflection, dialogue, and understanding. Through iconic figures like Anne Frank and Elie Wiesel, this year’s programs illuminated the enduring power of memory and resilience. The annual Kristallnacht Commemoration at the historic Kiever Shul brought our community together in a moving tribute to strength and hope. At a time when remembrance feels more important than ever, HEW reaffirms our shared commitment to education, empathy, and the fight against antisemitism. The Toronto Holocaust Museum remains dedicated to continuing this vital work year-round. We were thrilled to welcome audiences to our sold out programs. Thank you to all who attended! We extend heartfelt thanks to our sponsors for their unwavering support in sustaining Holocaust education, and to our partners for their collaboration. Check out this reel for a glimpse into HEW 2025.
On 8 August 1944, Anne Frank arrived here, at Camp Westerbork. During the Second World War, 107.000 Jews, Sinti and Roma were deported from this transit camp to concentration and extermination camps in the East. Anne was placed, together with her parents and sister Margot, in one of the punishment barracks: barrack 67. As Anne was 15 years old at the time, she was considered an adult and had to work in the camp. She had to perform heavy and dirty work in the battery dismantling unit for around ten hours a day. Almost four weeks after her arrival, on 3 September 1944, Anne was put on a transport along with her family. This was the very last transport to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp. This summer, you can find out more about Anne’s time in the transit camp during one of the guided tours at the former camp site. The tours take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays until 23 August, at 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm. For more information, visit the website: kampwesterbork.nl
This book has been on my TBR for yearsssss. I finally got it! These book banning Karen’s are front and center in this book. They’re so ridiculous that it’s hard to believe they exist in real life, but they do! For the third year in a row, Florida has removed or restricted more books from public schools than any other state. More than 2,300 titles were affected last school year, including The Handmaid’s Tale, The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, A Clockwork Orange, and even Wicked. All book banning enthusiasts should read this book to see how Nazi-like their views are and behavior is. But still, the book is cute. It’s like satire… but is not because some people really are as nuts as some of these characters 😬
The Only Known Footage of Anne Frank 👁️🫆 In 1941, Anne Frank was captured on film for just a few seconds, watching a wedding from her window. It remains the only known moving footage of her ever recorded.
@flights.and.outfits shares the things she wishes she knew before visiting Amsterdam 🇳🇱✨ 1. Be careful where you walk, the bike lanes are a war zone! If you hear a bell, move - immediately! 2. The Tulip parade is a must-see, a colorful parade travels from Noordwijk to Haarlem (in April) & it’s even better than Keukenhof Gardens! 3. The best Stroopwafel? Wait for it. You will find the most amazing Stroopwafels, that melt in your mouth, at Lanskroon Bakery! 4. Anne Frank’s house requires serious planning, tickets get sold months in advance! No last minute decisions here! 5. The best Dutch apple pie isn’t at a fancy cafe, head to Winkel 43 (locals swear by it!) 6. The best place to watch a sunset is at NDSM Wharf, wide-open views and creative vibes! 7. Oud-West is the go-to neighbourhood for locals. Great vibes, cafes & indie stores 8. You can rent a private Hot Tub on a canal, HotTug lets you sail the canals while soaking in a hot tub! What’s one tip you wish you knew before visiting? 📍Amsterdam, Netherlands
